I have discussed as many as five songs from “Laat Saahab” (1967). But five songs just too few a number to be satisfied with for a typical musical blockbuster of those days.

Regaining the memories of a song heard long back, I tried to locate it and tried to find more about it. Thankfully, I am able to find the audio posted on the YouTube. But then all other information is new to me. Pulling together information from Geet Kosh, I find this film is produced under the banner of Nagin Productions, and directed by Pal Premi. The main list of stars includes Mahipal, Parveen Choudhary, Sapru, Madhumati, Amarnath, Mohan Choti, Jeevankala etc.

I had resolved not to access any Hindi film related websites for few days to enable me to attend to some other pending works which included writing my travel blogs. But the urge to listen to old Hindi film songs was so strong that this resolution was broken in less than 24 hours. It appears that listening to and discovering new ‘gems’ from old Hindi film songs is an addiction for which there is no detoxification therapy. 😀

Most music directors of B grade movies tend to remain confined to B grade music throughout their careers. But the music director duo of Laxmikant Pyarelal were no ordinary music director duo.
