Raag Maalikaa in Hindi Films – 1
=====================

When Atul-ji was kind enough to post, at a very short notice, my Ankahee’s Pandit Bhimsen-ji’s bhajan, I started looking at the listing of Jaidev’s composition already covered. I realised that many of the gems of my favourite Music Director Jaidev are still waiting to be posted. Today (26 january 2014) is the 65th Republic day of India. It is easily the most important red letter day in the annals of independent India because India became a democratic republic on this day. Considering the old habits the Indians were used to for thousands of years, this was a new concept for Indians and many Indians have not fully reconciled to this concept even today, but this concept has paved the way for a nation where all Indians , irrespective of their backgrounds were guaranteed equality- something which was not guaranteed to them before 26 january 1950. Republic day also stresses the fact that India represents unity in diversity and that Indians, for all their diverse backgrounds can live and work with their fellow countrymen in harmony.

I do not have inflexible opinions about old or new things. I do enjoy many new things which have made life more comfortable and enjoyable,like computers,Mobile phones or TV serials etc.
