“Raaka”(1965) was produced by D N Sathi and directed by Kedar Kapoor for Tej Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Dara Singh, Mumtaz, K.N.Singh, Kamal Mehra, Shyam Kumar, Laxmi Chhaaya, Meenaxi, Praveen Paul, Tuntun, Roopesh Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Shakeela Bano Bhopali, Ganga, Aroon, Sheela, Junior Noor jahan, Fazal, Khursheed, Bihari, Anand, Bilkish, Saudagar Singh, Vasant Singh, K.L.Panda, Paul Kumidan, Salim, Black Shadow etc in it.

Regulars may have noticed lack of activity in the blog on my part for the last ten odd days. From June 25 till June 28, 7 posts were published and all these articles were posted by Sudhir jee. I had specifically requested him on 24 June 2022 that “it will be difficult for me to find time for publishing new posts from 24 june till 27 June. So I request you to uphold the blog flag for these four days.”
Sudhir jee had promised to do the needful, viz ensuring that we had at least one post on each of these days. He ended up publishing four posts on 27 June 2022, prompted by an over-enthusiastic Avinash Scrapwala, who sent many RD Burman write ups on that day for publication. 🙂

Once again, a very prolific week, the pace of post updates continues in full swing. Except that one day this week, we scored only a single. But for the rest of the week, it was all sixes with one extra run from an overthrow.

This date ten years ago (viz 5 september 2010) saw business as usual in the blog. Six songs from six movies were discussed chronologically in the order in which these movies were released.

One can see that “Prem Nagar”(1940) and “Sikandar e Azam”(1965) are the only two movies from that day which still have a few songs left to be covered. “Prem Nagar”(1940) balance songs are not available, so that leaves us with “Sikandar e Azam”(1965) as the only movie eligible for the “Blg Ten Year Challenge” today ten years later on 5 september 2020.
