K Parvez was the director and the star cast of the movie included names like Mehmood, Shakila, Johnny Walker, Omprakash, Poornima, Sheila Kashmiri, Shammi, Anwar Hussain, Brahm, Amar, Altaf, Dilip Dutt, Baby Devika, Jeevankala, Madhumathi, Kallan, Babu Raje etc.

“Madaari” (1959) was a quintessential B grade movie. Such movies normally remained confined to their dedicated fans and failed to register among the mainstream movie watchers. During the period from 1940s to 1960s, we often had titles of Hindi movies based on Railways. Thus we had movies titled “Station Master” (1942), ” Rail Ka Dibba” (1953), “Railway Platform” (1955) , “The Train” (1970) etc. Much later in 1980s, we had a few more Railway based titles, viz “The Burning Train” (1980) and “Coolie” (1983).
