“Samundar” (1957) was a P N Films production where P N Stood for Premnath. The movie was produced and directed by Premnath. It was quite an all family affair in the sense that Premnath, Bina Rai (his wife), Rajendranath (his brother) figuring in the movie. I remember the film GARAM COAT(1955) mainly because I had listened to one of its songs ‘jogiyaa se preet kiye dukh hoye’ in my friend’s house sometime in early 70s. Thereafter, I do not remember to have heard this song on the radio or any other medium until a few days back on YT.

I am familiar with a movie called “Kathputli”(1957). But it turns out that there was another movie of the same name in 1971 too.
“Kathputli” (1971) was a Dynamo International Production. It was produced and directed by Brij. Today (30 june) is the birth anniversary of Kalyanji, of the Kalyanji Anandji fame. Kalyanji Anandji were one of the most successful music directors from 1950s till 1970s. Many of their songs have gone on to become immortal. This blog has as many as 255 songs composed by them as of now.
