This song from “Udan Khatola” should have been an “udan Khatola” song, but I find that it is just a “boat” song. The boatwoman ( who is she ?) is required to carry Dilip Kumar and Nimmi to the other bank of the river and she states that her song should enable the duo reach there safely.

“Ujaala” is a movie that was quite a turning point for Shammi Kapoor as well as Raj Kumar. It was one movie where Shammi Kapoor was seen in full flow with the mannerisms that would become his trademark in the subsequent movies.

Zindagi ye zindagi

The movie is called “Daulat” and this song is an archtypical villain’s den song. Hero and heroine are in “disguise” of sorts and the lady keeps gesturing to the hero during her singing. I do not know how successful she is in communicating that way. The villain and his gangsters appear smarter than usual, and they have taken up positions as waiters in the club where this song is being sung.

I bet few people have heard about this movie called “Champakali” (1957). This movie had a hero on decline (Bharat Bhooshan) paired up with a very young Suchitra Sen, who would later become a legendary actress in Bangla movies.

“Prem Nagar” (1974) was a movie where the reigning male superstar and the biggest female star were brought together in the same movie for the first time. Perhaps the hype was too much, or may be the contents were not good enough. Whatever the reasons, this movie failed at the box office despite the presence of Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini.
