When we were studying in school, we had a period once in a week reserved for ‘deeni ta’aleem’. It used to be one of those time-paas periods, where teacher would come or just leave the kids be minded by the class monitors. This was not part of the exams, so it made no difference whether some things were taught or not. This subject was not even graded like the other subjects of ‘Physical Education’ or ‘ home science’ etc.

“Amaanat” (1975) was produced and directed by Shatrujit Paul. The movie had Manoj Kumar, Sadhana, Balraj Sahni, Mehmood, Achalka Sachdev, Shashikala, Keshto Mukherji etc in it. This movie began in 1960s and its songs got released much before the movie. The movie itself had a very delayed release. It finally got its censor certificate on 31 december 1975 and thus qualified as a movie of 1975!
