Today 26th September’2021 is the thirty-secondth Remembrance Anniversary of Legendary Singer and Music Director of yesteryears Hemant Kumar.
Hemant Kumar Mukhopadhyay was born on 16th June 1920 at Benaras, Benaras State under British India.
He passed away on 26th September 1989 at the age of sixty-nine.
As a fan of Hemant Kumar’s voice, I had always liked his singing and his compositions that he has given us in the Hindi Film Music. He also sang in many regional languages including my mother tongue – ‘Marathi’. Ravindra Sangeet sung by him in ‘Bengali language’ is an immortal gift he left for all music connoisseurs.

Aziz Khan, on the other hand, after a brief stint with Hindi film industry as a music director, reverted to playing Sitar and trained his son, Ustad Parvez Khan who is now an internationally well-known Sitar player.
