Today (28th may), which happens to be the birthday of music director Vinod gives me a good reason to discuss a few songs composed by him. Vinod, whose real name was Eric Robert was born on 28th may 1922 at Lahore. He came to Bombay in late 1940s alongwith Roop K Shorey. One proud feather that this blog carries in its cap is that all the Hindi/Urdu songs sung by Saigal Saab, both from films and non-film, are now posted on this blog. Lata also has already made a debut in the non-film category, for the song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo”. And so has Mohammed Rafi for the song “Awaaz Do Hum Ek Hain” .
