“Saagar” (1985) was produced by G P Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy. Its story, screenplay and lyrics were written by Jawed Akhtar and RD Burman was music director. The movie had 7 songs of which the blog has 5 but in my opinion we have covered six songs as the sad version of ‘saagar kinaare dil ye pukaare’ is found in the comments of post; which means that with today’s post “Saagar” will be YYIIPPEEEED!!!

Hullo Atuldom

Over the last few days we have had some very wordy posts- wordy in terms of the write up and also length of the song/s. None of these posts were boring, they were educative and informative.

Today’s song is from the ‘1974’ movie ‘Hamshakal’.

This movie made its debut on the blog on 23.05.2009 with its most known song i.e.,Kaahe ko bulaaya mujhe balmaa, pyaar mein naam se. So this movie will complete twelve years on the blog 😊 while still managing to stay unyippeeee’ed.

Today 29th April is ‘international dance day’!!!

If we go by the dictionary meaning of dance, it is ‘a series of steps and movements which you do to music’ and so the dancing is ‘the action of moving to music’.

Many of us like to dance but are too shy to break into a dance in public or even among friends (people like me). People like me will not dance if requested specifically but will dance without any insistence sometimes…. man mutaabiq ‘maahaul’ hona chaahiye bas, man aur sharir donon hi naachne lagte hain 😊

Welcome all to this ‘Yippeeee’ song post after some gap. The activity of ‘Yippeeee-ing’ of movies seem to have taken a backseat amid other posts.

If I correctly remember the last movie ‘Yippeeee’ed’ on 05th this month and the movie was ‘Amir Gharib-1974’.

Today’s ‘Yippeeee’ movie is ‘Dard-1981’.

‘Dard-1981’ (conflict of emotions) was directed by Ambrish Sangal for ‘Murghan Enterprises, Bombay’. It was produced by Shyam Sundar Shivdasani. It had Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon, Om Shivpuri, Krishan Dhawan, Pinchoo Kapoor, Shashi Kiran, Madhup Sharma, Kamaljeet, Harjeet, Poornima Jairam, Mazhar Khan, and Master Raju Shreshtha. Actress Ranjeeta made a ‘freindly appearance’ in this movie.

Welcome all to another post presenting a song from the ‘decade of seventies-1971-1980’. The years when I was growing, and as a ‘child’ I have many memories and nostalgia especially related with the only popular entertainment medium available those days i.e., ‘Hindi Cinema’, ‘Radio’ and ‘Hindi Film Music’.

“Dil Deewaana” (1974); written as ‘Dil Diwana’ in the movie’s titles; was a Rose Movies production i.e. Ramesh Behl was the producer and Narendra Bedi was the director. Though people feel it was a sequel of the successful “Jawaani Deewaani” (1972) I don’t think so.
