I was not aware of this movie called “Do Dilon Ki Daastaan” (1966) till recently. I wonder why . This movie has such nice songs in it and it should have been much better known. This movie had Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyantimala in lead roles.

“Devtaa” (1956) is a movie that was one of the earlier Hindi movies produced by a South Indian Production house. The lead actors of this movie were South Indians too. Gemini Ganeshan, Anjali Devi and Vyjyanti Mala had played the lead roles in this movie.

“Madhosh”(1951) is a movie that had Manhar Desai, Meena Kumari and Usha Kiran in lead roles. Talat Mehmood sung for Manhar Desai, whereas Lata sang for both the leading ladies. Thankfully the two leading ladies did not sing a duet together, else we do not know what the music directors would have done. 🙂

In the golden era of Hindi movies, the storyline of most movies were of the tried and tested nature. Few movie makers would try to be different, because it meant takling risks and such risks rarely paid dividends at the box office. Still, every movie maker (and the actors working in these movies) claimed that his/her forthcoming movie was “different”.

“Reshmi Roomaal” (1961) is a B grade movie starring Manoj Kumar and Shakila. Like all B grade movies of those days, this movie has A grade music, even if the music director is a lesser known individual.
