Today (24 october) is the birth anniversary of Jeevan, one of the major villains of Hindi movies from 1950s to 1970s.
Villains of Hindi movies typically concentrated on torturing the lead actors rather than lip syncing songs, and so there may not be too many songs that could be said to be picturised on them.

I find that the movies that I did not like often ended up as big hits (viz. “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”, “Suhaag” etc). On the other hands , the movies that I like a lot end up getting lukewarm response from the public (viz “The Great Gambler”, “The Burning Train”, “Deshpremi” etc).

“Bhumika”(1977) was a Blaze Film Enterprises Production. It was produced by Lalit M Bijlani and Freni Variava and directed by Shyam Benegal. The movie was based on “Sangte Aikaa”, a Marathi language book of memoirs written by Hansa Wadkar who led a flamboyant and unconventional life in the era as early as 1940s and who at that time focussed on an individual’s search for identity and self-fulfillment. Today (16 october) is the 64th birthday of Hema Malini. She ruled the roost in 1970s. So much so that she was described as dream girl by the media. To capitalise on this sobriquet, Pramod Chakraborty actually made a movie called “Dream Girl” (1977) signing up Hema Malini and Dharmendra.
