Starting with the original superstar of Comedians-Noor Mohd.Charlie, it was a trend that atleast one song was given in every film,to the comedian. After Charlie,there was a big gap, when there was no comedian of his stature in Hindi Films. Ofcourse Kishore Kumar was there, but he was more of an actor and singer than a comedian.

“Imaan Dharam” (1977) was produced under the banner of Suchitra Productions. Premji was the producer and the movie was directed by Desh Mukherji. When Alam Ara was released in 1931, people were awe-struck. Additionally, there were 7 songs in it. It was a novelty that the moving images on screen not only talked but they also sang. Alam Ara was lauded as a Landmark. One would imagine that there must have been a spate of Talkie films in its wake, but surprisingly only 24 in 1931, 61 in 1932 and 76 films in 1933 were made. This was because silent films were still being made till september 1934. Further the new filmmakers were yet to join the field. After 1934 the number crossed 100 and never stopped again.

“Mama Bhanja” (1977), not to be confused with Manmohan Desai directed “Chacha Bhatija” (1977), was directed by Naresh Kumar. The movie had real life Chacha bhatija (Shammi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor ) playing Mama and Bhanja respectively. The movie also had Parveen Babi, Asha Sachdev, Nadira, Jagdish Raj, Lalita Pawar, Ram Mohan etc in it.

Hindi movie makers have always been on the search for a formula that would enable them to make hit movies. And interestingly enough, this formula does not remain constant rather it varies with time. “Madhosh” (1974) was produced by Tahir Hussain and directed by Desh Gautam. The movie had Reena Roy, Rakesh Roshan, Mahendra Sandhu, Johny Walker, Helen, Jayshree T, Ravindra Kapoor etc in it. Present day star Aamir Khan is also present in the movie as a child artist.
