‘Aahistaa Aahistaa-1981’ was directed by Eesmayeel Shroff for ‘New World Enterprises, Bombay’. It was produced by Sibte Hasan Rizvi. The cast of this movie included Shammi Kapoor, Nanda, and Padmini Kolhapure, Deven Verma, Shashikala, Ashalata, Aruna Irani, Savita Bajaj, Sudhir Pande, Manisha, Rakesh Bedi, Leela Mishra, Master Sandeep, Baby Waheeda, Baby Gazala, Sunder Taneja, Kalu Singh, Krishnakant Pandya (junior), Deepak, Iliyas Contractor, Pramod Pathak, D.A. Ambaule, Harish, Suresh, Ramesh and others. The movie introduced Kunal Kapoor and Soni Razdan. Kadar Khan, Rahman and Girish Karnad had a special appearance in this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 05.10.1981. The music of ‘Aahistaa Aahistaa-1981’ was composed by the genius music director Khayyam Saab. Many songs from this movie became popular during those days.

“Chor police” (1983) was the directorial debut of Amjad Khan and produced by his wife Shehla Khan and Vinay Kumar Sinha (who was Amjad Khan’s secretary too). It was presented by Cinema International. It had R D Burman’s music and songs were written by Nida Fazli & Vithalbhai Patel (as per the movie’s titles). Suresh Wadkar, Asha Bhonsle, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Vinod Sehgal and Vanita Mishra were the playback singers used.

This movie has Rekha, Raj Kiran, Mazhar Khan, Om Shivpuri, Urmila Bhatt, Yunus Parvez, Anjan Shrivastava, Helena Luke, Pooja Saxena, Vinod Pande, Nalini, Rabia Amin, Asha Sharma, Raj Kishore, C.S. Dubey, Surinder Pal, Nitin Sethi, Monto, Vikas Anand, Surendra Gupta, Sunil Dhawan, Dinesh Kaushik, Segma, Suhail Khan, Manisha Parikh, Satish Kaushik, Manmauji, Brij Gopal, Uma Khosla, Moolchand, Mahapatra, Reshma, Neelu Arora and others. In the aftermath of Kargil War of 1999, some Hindi films have been made on this subject, mostly as war films like ‘LOC Kargil’ (2001) and ‘Lakshya’ (2004). In the recent period, ‘Gunjan Saxena’ – The Kargil Girl’ (2020) and ‘Shershaah’ (2021) were also made on the subject. I was not aware that ‘Dhoop’ (2003) was also related to Kargil War of 1999. When I watched the film, I became aware that this film was based on a true story of Captain Anuj Nayyar, MVC who laid down his life while capturing Point 4875 in the Tiger Hill sector in Kargil War. He was posthumously awarded Maha Veer Chakra and his family was granted franchise for operating a petrol pump.

Today, I learnt the importance of checking things on the blog before starting to write. I wrote a whole post with full detail. Very Happy, I sent it to Amma for proofreading. She replied – “I think I have already written about this song” and what do you know, “Dil Mein Jaagi Dhadkan” was already on this blog. But I had, already, written a post extolling how the song made me feel and why I loved it. The song was full of love & joy and always made me stop and give it attention. I had heard the song again because it was part of today’s polls in the bracket I mentioned in the “Ande ka Funda” song. And it inspired me to write.

He was born on 12th October’1938 and he passed away on 08th February’2016.
