When I was a youngster in my teens, I was under the impression that old songs meant boring songs, which were mostly like Ghazal, sad songs etc. But it is only much later that I realised that some wonderful light hearted songs too were created those days. One reason why the songs of the golden era live in our memory is the lyrics which were soul of these songs. Secondly, the singers sand these songs with involvement and passion, and thirdly, the music of these songs created just the right ambience for the mood of the song.

This is a song that I have heard many a times in my younger days. I was only aware of the fact that this song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle, but that was all I knew about this song.
