Today’s song is from a Stunt film of the early 40’s – Mauji Jeevan-1944. It was made under the banner of Harishchandra Pictures, Owned by Harishchandra Rao Kadam. The film was directed by Poonawala He seems to have done only this one film. Similarly, the Lyricist Baba Paagal wrote all the 7 songs of this film and then disappeared from the filmdom.

Today’s song is from an unknown film Maaf Kijiyega-1946. HFGK mentions ” Social Film” as its Genre, but none of the factors of this film support this claim. The director was Nari Ghadiyali – who was a specialist for action/stunt films. MD was K.Narayan Rao, famous only for stunt films. The cast of the film also consisted of regular actors for stunt films, like Prakash(real name Hashmat ullah khan), Shanta Patel (a regular in Master Bhagwan’s stunt films), Dalpat (popular as Dalpat Kaka), Bibi, Chandrika etc etc. The songs were written by an unknown lyricist- Mustapha and were sung by ordinary singers-not any famous one. I wonder how such a combination can be suitable for a ” Social’ film ?

I am poor in remembering important dates, as I have reiterated many a times. And with passage of time, I am actually becoming more absent minded. We already have our anniversary page, which is consulted by many music lovers, but I have not consulted it myself for quite some time. So, I come to know about important music related dates from others, who themselves may have come to know about these dates from our anniversary page ! 🙂
Today morning, I came to know that it is Mukesh’s birth anniversary. And I also noticed that as many as two Mukesh songs were covered yesterday (21 july 2021) and that took the tally of Mukesh songs in the blog to 799 !
So fate had ordained that Mukesh would complete his 800th song in the blog on his birth anniversary !

Hullo Atuldom
I have been wanting to send this song for almost a week or ten days now. I had first thought of 12th July which was the death anniversary of Jubilee Kumar a.k.a Rajendra Kumar. But, I was unable to, due to various reasons.
Then, yesterday, 20th July the birth anniversary of Rajendra Kumar- missed that too. Why? I was too busy attending (online) birthday parties. And reading all the blog-birthday posts. That simple.
But today is another opportunity to present this song to the blog-followers. Anand Bakshi – the lyricist- has his birth anniversary today. Would have been 91.
