Today (6 january) is the birthday of Rameshwari. Rameshwari who ? Many people among younger generation may look askance on the mention of her name. But there was a time during 1977-78 when she was one of the hottest property in Hindi movies when she made her debut in Rajshree Production’s endearing movie “Dulhan wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye” (1977). This movie turned her into an overnight sensation. People (especially women) would throng to watch this movie. When this movie was released in my town, I did not take any notice of it because the title of the movie did not appeal to me and in any case I was more into watching Amitabh Bachchan movies those days. WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL WARS

The observations made by the Supreme Court of India :
Corruption is opposed to democracy and social order, being not only anti people, but aimed and targeted against them. It effects the society and destroys the cultural heritage. Unless nipped in the bud at the earliest, it is likely to cause turbulence – shaking the socio-economic-political system in an otherwise healthy, wealthy, effective and vibrant society.

Chaandni Raaten – Song No. 9
——————————-

This song is simply my most favourite ‘chaand’ song of the 21st century. The last two decades had a few such music scores in Hindi films, ‘ Khaamoshi ‘ and ‘Parineeta’ are among them which made the decades bearable musically. Favourite ‘chaand’ song from the 90’s is here. Melody in film songs was still trying to keep its head above the general cacophony which passed for music and entertainment.

That was my pondering point. The title seems to be the indicative of a complicated story line of the film. I had completely forgotten about of this film until few days back when I came across one of the songs from this film. I liked the song and then I heard two other songs from the film which were also good. So I decided to watch this film which was available on YT.
