I have in my earlier posts mentioned that nowadays I am getting to listen to radio for at least two to two and half hours every day. And mainly I listen the programmes on Vividh Bharati only.
So, in the morning time it is part of ‘ham hai raahi pyaar ke’ and ‘Bharat ki goonj’ and evening times it is part of or sometimes full edition of ‘Shaam sindoori’, ‘Sangeet sarita’, ‘Jaymala’ etc.
Now that is the daily schedule since 2nd November’2020. This has given me the opportunity to listen variety of songs from the yesteryears and even the songs from recent times. I have come across many unheard songs and some beautiful songs even from the eighties and nineties. I will try to share them as and when possible.

Hullo Atuldom
The title-cards of movies that he was present in always billed him as “And Pran”.
His was the character needed to bring out the hero in Raj-Dilip-Dev, Dharam-Rajendra-Sunil. Shammi Kapoor fooled him in “Kashmir Ki Kali”, “Bluffmaster” etc’ Kishore Kumar made him run after him in “Half Ticket”. He was unhappily-married to the girl Manoj Kumar loved in “Do Badan”.

Hullo Atuldom
6th February 2022. Sad day for lovers of music. The news which all music fans didn’t want to hear came through a friend’s message on Whatapp. Our dear Sur Saraswati – Nightingale – Miracle of Nature – Swar Kokila (all such epithets fell right and square on her slender shoulders) is no more. She was a power house of talent that came in a small package. She was the face of Indian film music who rode the classical music vehicle with as much ease as light music. Bhajans rendered by her were what the nation woke up to for years and were the inspiration for singers of the later generation to try their hand at classical and devotional songs.

In Memory of Mahatma Gandhi – the father of the nation.
——————————————————————-
Eknath Easwaran writes in the preface of a book:
“In India, Mahatma Gandhi is officially Father of the Nation. Under his leadership India attained freedom from the British Empire through a 30-year campaign based on complete non-violence that ended with both sides allied in respect and friendship. That alone will secure his place in the history books, but not necessarily his place in a series of the world’s spiritual classics.”
