Badalte Huye Saathi (Episode 11…LAST SONG)(Lata sings with Chitalkar)

Finally, we have reached the end of this series having just 11 songs. For a theme like BADALTE HUYE SAATHI,11 songs is too less, I know. This subject is so vast that,at best,it can only be represented here, and it is not possible to do full justice to the topic, I agree. When I started this series,I had said that it is not possible to cover all the Major singers or cover the entire period of 1931 to 1960. However, the temptation to write on this topic was so intense that I decided to do it in 10 to 12 episodes, somehow. Utter ” Na- Insaafi “, I am aware of it !

Nainon se naina milaa ke – Song no. 11
——————————————-
With post of 10th song in the series, I thought the series is complete. But it was not to be. A fellow contributor to the blog, Mr. Nitin Shah, has magnanimously offered a wide choice of songs for this series, and contributed the lyrics, compelling me to continue the series for a few more songs.

Badalte Huye Saathi (Episode 10th)(Mukesh sings with Lata Mangeshkar)
———————————————————————

I am of the firm opinion that sad songs are best sung by 1) Mukesh 2) Talat and 3) Hemant Kumar. Though I like Mohd. Rafi very much, he is not among the first 3 names for sad songs in my list. The pathos one finds in the voice of Mukesh in unmatched !

Badalte Huye Saathi (Epiosde No. 9) ( Shamshad Begum sings with Mukesh)
———————————————————————————
To be a multi-lingual person is good. Knowing more languages-not just knowing, but speaking many languages has its own advantages. I had the built in advantage of having been born in a Multi-lingual state of Hyderabad. Starting with Urdu, I soon learnt Marathi(Mother tongue), Hyderabadi and Pure Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. Because of my father, I learnt Sanskrit, but could not master it, though I am well conversant in it. After coming to Bombay,I learnt Gujarati so well that I can read Gujarati papers, books and E Mails etc.
