The audience used to become ecstatic with joy watching their films. No one cared if the story was weak or the music was third grade. What was more important was to see Dev and Madhubala, with a contented heart !

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 17 # Bhupinder Singh – 1
—————————————————-

I was not aware of this film ‘Saveraa-1972’ or its songs. I came across this film through HFGK and the music of this film being composed by R.D.Burman attracted me towards it and the very first song appearing in the list is sung by Bhupinder Singh.

So everything was perfectly set for an exciting and wonderful song, but yet to be explored and given that very less numbers of Bhupinder Singh songs are available how can we miss this song.

Mukesh and his Composers – 5
————————————

Remembering Mukesh (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976) today (22 july 2015)on his 92nd birth anniversary.

Though he had started his career nearly two decades back in 1940 and had some remarkable hits in late 40’s and early 50’s, his foray into acting-singing in the early fifties had some disastrous consequences which in my view affected his whole career in some way or the other. The first three posts in this series clearly show that his songs with those composers stopped sometime after 1949-50. And then there are huge gaps before he was called again by the same composers.
