When I had watched “Mother India” (1957) for the first time during late 1970s/ early 1980s, I did not realise that the movie had so many songs in it. I throught that the movie have about five or six songs in it. The first Hindi Tarzan movie was “Toofaani Tarzan” (1937). In this movie John Cawas played Tarzan and Jane was played by Gulshan. This movie was a Wadia Movietone production. It was directed by Homi Wadia. Other important actors in the movie were Boman Shroff, Chandrashekhar, Nazira, Dalpat, Ahmed Dilwar etc.

Pick up any film done by him, any song created by him, and as you listen, and if you are not aware of the identity of the music director, you will surely wonder who would it be, the creator of such a lovely melody.
