When I had watched “Mother India” (1957) for the first time during late 1970s/ early 1980s, I did not realise that the movie had so many songs in it. I throught that the movie have about five or six songs in it. As it is, we have already discussed as many as ten songs from this movie in the blog and there are some more songs still left to be discussed.

The first Hindi Tarzan movie was “Toofaani Tarzan” (1937). In this movie John Cawas played Tarzan and Jane was played by Gulshan. This movie was a Wadia Movietone production. It was directed by Homi Wadia. Other important actors in the movie were Boman Shroff, Chandrashekhar, Nazira, Dalpat, Ahmed Dilwar etc.

Ganesh Sharma, the prodigious composer and the creator of melodies of everlasting memories. Pick up any film done by him, any song created by him, and as you listen, and if you are not aware of the identity of the music director, you will surely wonder who would it be, the creator of such a lovely melody. Somehow, the combination of the tones, the octaves and the emphases make the tunes created by this hugely talented musician simply touch a very endearing nerve, and the heart simply wants to sing along with the flow of the song.
