There are many movies which come and disappear becoming forgotten over time. It is such movies that take time to make their debuts on our blog. This movie “Kaun Hai Woh?” (1983) is one such movie. Its songs are not available on YouTube. Its artists are no longer in the limelight and the movies songs lie in the dust with some collectors.

One thing about life that amazes me is its unpredictability. Let me explain. See when I got the email from Sudhirji in April 2014 informing me about the approaching 10K milestone I had decided to send as many songs as possible to Atul for reaching 10000 as soon as possible. And in right earnest I sent 4 songs over a week in my (personal) “March unto 10000” mission. And I must say Atul was good to me by posting all of them instantly. Then came my unexpected tour of Delhi; and I took a break from my list of romantic songs and sent a Delhi based song. This is one incident that proves that we plan something and we end up doing something else.

Today, 10th October 2016, happens to be the birthday of Rekha, one of the most successful and prominent actors of the 1970s and 1980s.

As mentioned in a few of my earlier posts I have been visiting Khandwa regularly from August 2015 onwards. In the past when I was staying at Kota (Rajasthan) I would pass through this place while going to Purna and Akola Junction from Kota, but I never got a chance of staying there and feel the ‘town’.

Never before I had to piece together so little information from so many sources about a song that I liked so much as in case of “Ut’re jo zindagi teri gehraaiyon men hum” from Pratibha (1984).

Asha ji, one of the leading lady playback singers in Indian cinema, turns 83 today. Seventy of thes 83 years have been spent in an active career, probably the longest such accomplishment by a playback singer. The antecedents of this song are somewhat peculiar. As per available information, this song is listed in the Geet Kosh for the film ‘Aansoo’, an unreleased film from 1970s. Also, as I checked for online availability, I find that this song is posted for the film ‘Majboori’, that is listed for the year 1986. I went back and double checked other songs which are listed in the Geet Kosh for the unreleased film ‘Aansoo’, and sure enough, the songs listed in Geet Kosh figure in the film ‘Majboori’. The most likely scenario is that the film was started sometimes in the 1970s, with the title ‘Aansoo’, and the songs were created and released under that film name. The film would have been delayed inordinately, and finally found its release almost a decade later in 1986, albeit under a different title – ‘Majboori’.

Hullo to all Atulwaasis
I am hereby announcing my resignation from this group. And no; it is not because of anyone in the group being offensive or being offended by any post in the Whatsapp group of the regulars of this blog. It is just that I am unfit to be in this group.
I am sure I have everyone’s attention now. And everyone will be looking for an answer to the “Y” and what lead to my decision. Well for starters I felt that either I should leave the group or take ‘sanyaas’ from the blog. “WHY?”
