Hullo Atuldom
A few months back our in-house encyclopedia a.k.a Shri. Arunkumar Deshmukhji had given us a post. This post gave us information about the various actors, down the years, who were connected to successful artists of the film industry but who’s career could not proceed beyond their first few films. That list included Raj Kapoor’s son Rajeev Kapoor, Premnath’s brothers etc. I can add numerous names of the current generation, who had successful first films & medium-success in their next few films but could not produce hit films later in their career- IMO the biggest example being Kumar Gaurav (no hard feelings, I was mighty impressed by him in “Love Story” so many years back.

Hullo Atuldom
10th October is the date when Rekha (born Bhanurekha) turns a year older.
Rekha, who made a debut in films as a teenage, first in telugu followed by Kannada & Hindi, has been seen in close to 180 films. She has also acted in a Bhojpuri film. She had given her voice to characters played by Smita Patil, that were at the dubbing stage & left incomplete due to Smita’s death. She has also tried her hand at singing, she didn’t sound bad.

Another Summer Olympics comes along. Once again, Indians have their hopes raised.
And once again, most of these are dashed.
Indians take out their frustration on a few athletes/players — and get back to their normal lives in a few days. Every four years – rinse, repeat.
I’ve been seeing this routine since 1976.

The cast included Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Jimmy Shergill, Sharmila Tagore, Raima Sen, Parikshit Sahni, Meeta Vashisht etc. The film is an action costume drama with a background of a Royal family in a contemporary setting. ‘Bride and Prejudice’ (2004) was an English language film produced by Miramax Films, Pathe Pictures, UK Film Council and 5 other film production companies based in the USA and Europe. The film was directed by Gurinder Chadha. The cast included Aishwarya Rai and Martin Henderson in lead roles with the supporting cast of Anupam Kher, Nadira Babbar, Naveen Andrews, Namrata Shirodkar, Meghna Kothari, Piya Roy Chowdhary, Indira Verma, Daniel Gillies, Sonali Kulkarni, Nitin Ganatra etc. The film was shot in the UK, the USA and India. The lead actor, Martin Henderson was born and brought-up in Auckland, New Zealand and now settled in Los Angles with his career in films and TV. Naveen Andrews was born and brought up in London. His parents were immigrants from Kerala. He is now a naturalised US citizen with his career in films and TV.

The cast included Jimmy Shergill, Hrishita Bhatt in the lead roles supported by Irfaan Khan, Ashutosh Rana, Rajpal Yadav. Hullo Atuldom
Beginning this post with a few thoughts that have been running through my head. What is the time or age to define something as old?
I have been observing people around me, for the last few years of my better half’s tenure, at his last workplace. I am saying “last workplace” as he has decided to call it a day; inspite of loving what he has achieved over the last 45 years. People consider him young enough to open up about their joys & sorrows. His colleagues cannot believe or don’t want him to hang his boots yet. Of course, I am very proud of all that his co-workers (he doesn’t call them subordinates) have to say about him.
