————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Darindaa-1977)
——————————————-——————————————

“Darindaa-1977” was directed by Kaushal Bharati for ‘Bunty Enterprises, Bombay’. It was produced by M.S. Gulati. It had Sunil Dutt, Feroz Khan, Parveen Babi, Madan Puri, Bharat Bhushan, Raj Mehra, Shivraj, Mridula, Birbal, Sajjan and others. Premnath, Preeti Sapru, Komila Virk, Lily Chakravarti and Janaki Dass had special appearances in this movie.

Kaushal Bharati who had directed this movie was also the writer of this movie. Editing of this film was done by B.S. Glaad.

“Darindaa-1977”was passed by Censor Board on 24.11.1977.

This movie has five songs written by Indeevar and music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji. Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Yesudas, Kanchan, Mukesh and Mohd Rafi had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Here is the list of songs in this movie. (HFGK mentions total seven sound tracks for this movie which were released on its records. Out of these there were five songs, one music track and one dialogues’ track).

SNo. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Aap ke gumsum rehne se har shai pe udaasi chhaayi hai Kishore Kumar
02 Ladki kaahe ko bani Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, chorus
03 Ho o …pyaar kar le, kar le pyaar gori Yesudas, Kanchan
04 Chaahe aaj mujhe naa pasand karo Mukesh 22.07.2017
05 Tu jo nahin koyi mera, mera koyi nahin Mohd Rafi
06 Music track
07 Dialogues track

I do not remember to have watched this movie and also I do not remember to have listened to the songs of this movie except the one that has been posted on the blog.

The song ‘chaahe aaj mujhe naa pasand karo’ sung by Mukesh has been presented on the blog by our Shri Raja Saab and it was posted on 22.07.2017.

Raja Saab had also watched this movie again (as he mentioned, for the above post) and had briefly mentioned about the story of this movie in his post which I am reproducing below.

Briefly, the story is how Sunil Dutt, separated as a poor young boy from his rich childhood friend, Parveen Babi, grows up as a yogi, supposedly to do good deeds.
But he has just one goal in mind – to find Parveen, and win her over. He searches everywhere for her – becoming a monster (Darinda) in the process, even killing women in his pursuit.
And when he finally does find her, she is engaged to be married to Feroze Khan. How he then reacts, what is Parveen’s reaction, what happens to Feroze?
– See the film if you want to find out. (There’s a bit of hint in this song too)

Today I present the second song from this movie which is sung by Yesudas and Kanchan. The song is lip-synced by Feroz Khan and Parveen Babi on screen. This is a romantic song between the two ‘lovers’ or ‘engaged couple’ 🙂 and shot on beautiful outdoor locations and a ‘sea-beach’. The pair of Feroz Khan and Parveen Babi looked beautiful in this song.

I had not heard this song earlier, but it is a nice hummable song and it grows upon us if we listen to it twice or thrice.

I guess that this movie must be a watchable movie given the ‘social drama’ and also I guess it must be having some powerful dialogues of Sunil Dutt.

We will ‘travel’ into this movie more in future… 🙂

Till then let us enjoy this duet in the special voices of Yesudas and Kanchan…

(Note- The video print of this song (and even the movie available on internet) is not much clear).

Lyrics are by Indeevar and music is composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Rangeela Ratan-1976)
——————————————-——————————

In my childhood days I remember I watched many movies with elders in the family, and mostly with brothers and cousins. I have vague memories of watching many such movies. There were many more movies released those days that I missed out on. I did not even watch them later. That does not prevent me from feeling nostalgic for many such movie titles.

Today’s movie is one such movie. This movie is ‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’.

I have a big ‘nostalgia’ of this movie name called ‘Rangeela Ratan’. Somewhere I think the nostalgia is also associated with the ‘matkaa-king’ Ratan Khatri. Satta or ‘matkaa’ was in full swing in Maharashtra in those years and from reading news or discussions happening around between elders or seniors in school this may have got it imprinted on my mind.

One more Hindi movie that had this nostalgia of ‘sattaa-matkaa’ for me is ‘Dharmaatma-1975’ which had Feroz Khan and Premnath, which sources mentioned was based on Ratan Khatri and his ‘business’.

When I became associated with this blog I had shared a song from the movie ‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’. At that time I was not aware about all songs from this movie.

Later on one more duet song was presented by Atul ji from this movie which I remember to have heard during those years.

Recently during my daily browsing for songs I got to listen to one more song from this movie which I sounded a little familiar to me. This song is a duet song sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle.

Today I am presenting this duet song from this movie ‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’.

Before that, here is a brief about this movie as mentioned by Atul ji in earlier post with the song of this movie.

“Rangeela Ratan” (1976) was directed by S Ramnathan for R B Films, Bombay. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Rama Prabha, Ajeet, Jeewan, Ratan Khatri (special role), Durga Khote, Shyama, Narendanath, Tuntun, Sunder, Shashi Kiran, Shreeram Laagoo, Pinchoo Kapoor, Keshto Mukherji, Manorama, Urmila Bhatt, Uma Khosla, Katy Irani, Babban Lal Yadav, Ghanshyam, Birbal, Viju Khote, Preetam, Gopal, Dilip Dutt, Shekhar Purohit etc in it.
The movie was supposedly based on the life of Ratan Khatri (who makes an appearance in the movie), who was known as matkaa king of Bombay those days. Matkaa was a kind of gambling (gambling is illegal in India of course).

‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’ has five songs written by Gulshan Bawra and composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Here are the details of the songs of this movie.

SNo. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Dhholi dhhol zor se bajaa Kishore Kumar, Babban Lal Yadav
02 Teraa meraa meraa teraa jab ho gaya faislaa Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle
03 Laakhon choley toone badle… jaag re jaag musaafir Mukesh 20.12.2013
04 Main hoon rangeela ratan Shailendra Singh
05 Tum hi ho tum hi ho jaan e jaan Lata Mangeshkar,Kishore Kumar 15.07.2018

As can be seen from the above table, two songs from ‘Rangeela Ratan-1976’ have already been posted on the blog earlier.

Today’s song is the third song from this movie ‘Rangeela Ratan’ to be presented on the blog.

This song is a ‘romantic duet’ picturised on Rishi Kapoor and Parveen Babi where they can be seen ‘romancing’ in the ‘rains’ and singing this song. Many many other artists are also seen towards the end of the song.

Today 30th April’2023 is the third ‘remembrance anniversary’ of Rishi Kapoor (born on 04th September’1952 and passed away on 30th April’2020).
On this occasion the today’s song also serves as a ‘tribute to him’.

04th April’2023 was the sixty-ninth birth anniversary of Parveen Babi, the actress appearing in this song. She was born on 4th April’1954 and passed away on 20th Janunary’2005.

As a ‘fan of seventies’ I pay my tributes to both of them of them who have given us so many memories of their movies from the seventies.

Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle are the singers of this song alongwith chorus.
Gulshan Bawra is the lyricist and music is composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Let us listen to this song which I am sure will bring back memories for many…

#the Decade of Eighties – 1981 – 1990 #
————————————————————————

During the months of November-December 2022, I had presented couple of ‘drunkard’ category or ‘drink driven’ category songs on the blog. The last one was posted on 03.12.2022. I think the blog is ‘overdue’ 🙂 for another such song.

So, here is a song from the movie ‘Ashaanti-1982’.

‘Ashaanti-1982’ was directed by Umesh Mehra for ‘Eagle Films, Bombay’. It was produced by Parvesh C. Mehra.

The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi, Mithun Chakravarty, Kanwaljeet, Amrish Puri, Jeevan, Narendra Nath, Monty, Mac Mohan, Kishore Kapoor, Yusuf Khan, Ram Sethi, Nadira, Satyen Kappu, Bob Christo, Mohan Choti, Avtar Gill, Ajay Agrawal, Amir Jambra, Yusuf, Ganesh, and others.

Prem Kishan and Ramesh Deo make a special appearance in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 01.05.1982.

Here is a brief about this movie as mentioned by Peevesie’s Mom ji in her post while discussing a song from this movie.

“Ashanti” was one of the multi-starrers of that year. It had Rajesh Khanna heading a cast of Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Mithun Chakravarthy, Kanwaljeet, Amrish Puri, Satyen Kappu, Jeevan Ramesh Deo, Nadira, Pinchoo Kapoor, Narendranath, Monty Nath, and many more known faces that formed the supporting cast. It was an action film and was the story of an honest & dedicated police officer played by Rajesh Khanna who intercepts a bank robbery but is himself caught with the suitcase of stolen money, tried in the court and jailed. Further twists in the tale lead him to losing a leg too. On his release from prison he seeks out the wrong doers and for this he has help from the three heroines and Shankar Dada played by Mithun. If my memory is correct, one of the heroines is also the lost daughter of Amrish Puri who is the cause of all the troubles of the police officer. The movie comes to a close after a lot of drama and high voltage action.

This movie had five songs composed by R.D. Burman. Lyrics for all the five songs were penned by Anand Bakshi.

Following is the list of songs in this movie:-

S.No. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01. Ru ru ru ru … Dil diya hai maine dil diya hai Asha Bhonsle, Amit Kumar 29.12.2022
02 Main hoon sharaabi, nahin ji nahin Shailendra Singh
03 Naa tujhse naa mujhse oye naa mujhse naa tujhse, hamse hai yah duniya Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Shailendra Singh 29.12.2021
04 Suniye main jis shahar mein jaati hoon… laungi mirchi main Kolhapurchi Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle 19.11.2017
05 Shakti de ma … o pag pag thokar khaaun chal naa paaun … Chandrashekhar Gadgil, chorus 29.12.2012

So far four songs from this movie have been posted on the blog. Today’s song is the fifth and final song from this movie.

This song is sung by Shailendra Singh. Mithun Chakravarty performs on this song. The picturisation shows Mithun at a ‘sharaab thheka’ with Mohan Choti with him. Also seen in the picturisation is Parveen Babi who seems to be on some ‘sceret agenda’out to take advantage of Mithun’s intoxicated condition. 🙂

With this song all songs of ‘Ashanti-1982’ get covered on the blog and this movie joins the ‘list of movies-all songs covered’.

Let us say ‘Y i P p Ee eE’ to ‘Ashanti’ as the movie ends its journey on the blog on a “high” with this ‘drunkard’ song. 🙂

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Missing movies of 1973-9)
——————————————-——————————

Today’s movie of ‘1973’ is ‘Charitra’.

As a cricketer in childhood I was aware that Salim Durrani has acted in a Hindi movie titled as ‘Charitra’. Seniors in our cricket playing group used to discuss such ‘interesting topics (?)’ then.

I think many of them may not have seenthis movie then as it was a movie with restricted viewing (i.e. passed by Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate).

I am not aware if this movie was at all screened in theatres or it just disappeared without trace.

Anyway we had always got to read that there was a movie in which cricketer Salim Durrani had acted.

Later on as a ‘movie watching’ boy and as a grown up person I became aware that Parveen Babi was the heroine of this movie and this was her debut movie.

Now equipped with HFGK I know that there were no songs in this movie except a ‘dohaa’ from ‘Ramayana’ played in the background. And the other sound track bearing ‘background music’, so there are two soundtracks of this movie which were released.

“Charita-1973” was directed by B.R. Ishara for ‘B.R.I. Arts’. B.R. Ishara was also the producer of this movie.

It had Parveen Babi (mentioned as the ‘hottest discovery) and Salim Durrani (mentioned as ‘ace cricketer of India’) with Manmohan Krishna, Asit Sen, Kanchan Mattu, Abhijeet Sen, Dilip Dutt, Johny Whisky, Amul Sen, Jyoti, Ratan, Latika, Jharna, Abbas, Murti, Ruzbay, Vasanti, Sameena, Madhu, Manoj, Raj Pankaj, Prem Pujari, Hira, Gulshan, Deepak Gayan, Madhu, and Gautam Sarin.

This movie also introduces two more new faces i.e. Arvind Kirad and Subramanium. C.S. Dubey had a special appearance in this movie.

This movie was written by B.R. Ishara who was also the producer and director of this movie. Editing of this movie was done by I.M. Kunnu.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 16.10.1973.

Music for this movie was composed by Bappi Lahiri. He also sung the ‘doha’ by Tulsidas from Ramayana’.

There were no songs in this movie and so no lyricist contributed in the movie.

Only two soundtracks were released.

Today we present the ‘doha’ soundtrack sung by Bappi Lahiri in his own voice.

In the picturisation we can see Parveen Babi in a ‘dharm sankat’ 🙂 I guess, looking at books on ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ scattered around her …

Today 20th January’2023 is the eighteenth ‘remembrance anniversary’ of actress Parveen Bai. She left this world on this day in ‘2005’.

So let us pay our tributes to her today!!!

With today’s presentation this movie ‘Charitra-1973’ makes its debut and also attains ‘Yippeeee-hood’ on the blog.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
———————————————————–—-
#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Remembrance Day – Shashi Kapoor)
—————————————

Today we pay our tributes to yesteryears’ actor Shashi Kapoor. He passed away on this day 4th December in 2017. He was born on 18th March’1938.

On this occasion I am presenting a song from the 1978 movie ‘Aahuti’.

Shashi Kapoor was a regular feature in many of the movies in the seventies and many multi-starrer movies especially. Today’s movie is one such movie which I had watched in my childhood and being a story of three brothers it touched me and since then is there in my memory. Though, I do not remember the whole movie now except for its songs.

‘Aahuti’ was directed by Ashok Bhushan for ‘Basho Productions, Bombay’.

It had Rajendra Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Rakesh Roshan, Zaheera, Asha Sachdev, Kamini Kaushal, Ajit, Madan Puri, Paintal, Krishan Dhawan, Raj Mehra, Kuljeet, Dulari, Birbal, Rajan Kapoor, Ranjana Sachdev, Preeti Ganguly, Ranbeer Raj, Pal Sharma, Darshan Arora, Dharmveer, Master Romi, Master Rajesh, Master Ravi and others.

Pradeep Kumar makes a ‘special appearance’ in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.04.1978.

This movie had six songs penned by Anand Bakshi and composed to music by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Following is the list of songs in this movie;

S.No. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Is duniya mein kaun sanwaare sab ke bigde kaam (Part-1) Mahendra Kapoor, Anuradha Paudwal, chorus
02 Is duniya mein kaun sanwaare sab ke bigde kaam (Part-2) Kishore Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Manhar, chorus
03 Kaash aisaa hota Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, chorus 04.08.2016
04 Saathi mere saathi rut aati jaati Mohd Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, chorus 22.07.2018
05 Naukri sau ki hazaar ki Kishore Kumar, Anuradha Paudwal, chorus
06 Jugni ik ladki ka naam Lata Mangeshkar, chorus 04.04.2021

So far three songs from the above have been earlier posted on the blog.

I had mentioned in my previous post with a song of this movie that the two songs from this movie which brings back memories for me are ‘Is duniya mein kaun sanwaare sab ke bigde kaam’ and the second one is the today’s song ‘Naukri sau ki hazaar ki’. This song is lying since long now and today we are going to listen and watch it ‘remembering Shashi Kapoor’ and also Parveen Babi both of whom appeared in many movies of the ‘seventies’.

Let us now listen to today’s beautiful song which is sung by Kishore Kumar and Anuradha Paudwal. The song is lip-synced by Shashi Kapoor and Parveen Babi respectively.

Naukari sau ki hazaar ki

Keemat nahi hoti pyaar ki
Aa aa aa aa aa
Pyaar anamol hai
Ik meethaa bol hai
Meethi-meethi baatein yaar ki
Aa aa aa aa aa
Naukari sau ki hazaar ki

Mushkil raahon se aksar
Bachkar log nikalte hain
Mushkil raahon se aksar
Bachkar log nikalte hain
Phoolon ke jo aashiq hain
Wo kaanton pe chalte hain
Chhod ke galiyaan bahaar ki
Naukari sau ki hazaar ki
Keemat nahin hoti pyaar ki
Pyaar anamol hai
Ik meethaa bol hai
Meethi-meethi baatein yaar ki

Ho Naukari sau ki hazaar ki

Pyaar nahin kartaa koyee
Daulat ke deewaano mein
Pyaar nahin kartaa koyee
Daulat ke deewaano mein
Wo kyaa jaanen fark hai kyaa
Dil mein aur dukaanon mein
Dil amaanat dildaar ki

Naukari sau ki hazaar ki

aa aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa aa

Barasengi ban ke ghataa ye
Apni Jo pyaas hai
Ye apni Jo pyaas hai
ham jaage jiske liye
Ab wo subah paas hai

Wo subah paas hai
Raat beeti intezaar ki
Naukari sau ki hazaar ki
Keemat nahin hoti pyaar ki
Pyaar anmol hai
ik meethaa bol hai
Meethi-meethi baatein yaar ki
Naukari sau ki hazaar ki

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 132
————————————————————————————–

Welcome all to this post under ‘blog ten year challenge 2012-2022’. This post of mine under this series is coming after a long gap. 🙂

I had come across today’s song couple of months back when I heard it on radio and again it got played on radio recently. The song is a ‘distinct’ composition of a regular music director and music lovers can easily guess the name of the music director if they listen to the song. The music director in this case is Rajesh Roshan.

Rajesh Roshan has given us many memorable songs and also entertaining enjoying light music to ‘celebrate life’.

The song is from the ‘1977’ movie ‘Mama Bhanja’.

Ten years back on this day i.e. 27th November’2012 there were as many as eight songs were posted on the blog.

The details of these songs are as given below. The status of the movies of the respective songs is also given below.

Song Title Name of the movie(Year) Remarks
Tumhre darshan ka nainaa taras gaye ho Prarthana(1943) 4 of 10 songs posted
Na khizaan hoon main na bahaar hoon Aasmaan(1952) All songs covered
Aa pardesi baalma morey aangnaa Chham Chhama Chham(1952) 9 of 11 songs posted
Unhen tu bhool jaa ae dil Naya Ghar(1953) All songs covered
Bekas ki aabroo ko neelaam karke chhoda Ek Hi Raastaa(1956) All songs covered
Arre waah mere maalik Half Ticket(1962) All songs covered
Lo apna jahaan duniyaa waalon Dooj Ka Chaand(1964) All songs covered
Meri jhilmil jhilmil bindiya Mama Bhanja(1977) 1 of 4 songs posted

From the above table we can see that out of the eight movies represented on the blog ten years ago (27 November 2012), five movies have been ‘Yippeeee’ed on the blog.

This means, three movies are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge on the blog today (27 November 2022).

As mentioned above I am presenting a song from the movie ‘Mama Bhanja’.

“Mama Bhanja” was directed by Naresh Kumar for ‘Dimple Enterprisers’.

It was produced by Virendra Kumar.

It had Shammi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Asha Sachdev, with Ram Mohan, Hari Shivdasani, Lalita Pawar, Raj Kishore and Nadira.

The movie also starred Prannath Sharma, Randhir, Tilak Raj, Rajan Kapoor, Master Shailesh and Moolchand.

Story of the movie was written by Naresh Kumar who was also the director of this movie. (The titles of this movie mentioned it as ‘Story re-written & Directed by Naresh Kumar):)

Editing of this movie was done by Govind Dalwadi.

Dialogues and lyrics for the songs in this movie were written by Rajinder Krishan.
Music was composed by Rajesh Roshan.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 05.04.1977.

“Mama Bhanja-1977” has four songs in it and the list of these songs is as given below.

SNo Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Baat ye kaisi keh di zaalim Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle

03 Ik baat mere honthhon tak Lata Mangeshkar
04 Meri jhilmil jhilmil bindiya Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar 27.11.2012

So far, only one song from this movie has been posted on the blog. And today this movie completes its ten-year run on the blog still waiting for two more songs after the today’s one to be posted on the blog. Hope they will be coming soon.

Today’s song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar and on screen it is lip-synced by Randhir Kapoor and Parveen Babi respectively.

Let us now enjoy today’s song …

Blog Day : 5011 Post No. : 16915 Movie Count : 4593

Today’s song is from the ‘1981’ movie ‘Meri Aaawaaz Suno’.

This movie was passed by Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate, so people of my age then (I was around 13 years old) were not eligible to watch this movie during its first run.
However, I remember that our seniors used to discuss this movie and the brutal violence shown in it. What I vaguely remember about this movie is that Jeetendra plays a double role – one of dreaded murderer and one of a sincere and dedicated police officer. I think the music of this film was also overall good. I carried the memory of a couple of songs from this movie. I am presenting one of them today.

I did not remember the other songs of this movie. While preparatiing of this post I visited other songs and found one more song that was familiar to me.

Today’s song has a catchy tune and foot tapping music. Jeetendra and Parveen Babi perform on screen on this song.

Today 7th April’2022 is the eightieth birthday of Jeetendra (born on 07.04.1942). He was a major lead actor in the movies of ‘seventies’ and continued to shine in the ‘eighties’ too. Today he will be celebrating his 81st birthday. On this occasion, we wish him a healthy and peaceful life ahead.

Parveen Babi the actress in this song (04th April’1954 – 20th January’2005) had her birthday falling on 04th April. She would have turned sixty-eight on that day. She wore her usual ‘Parveen Babi looks’ 🙂 in this song and looks ‘gorgeous’. This picturisation brings back memories of her other movies from the ‘seventies’ and ‘eighties’ too.

Coming back to today’s movie ‘Meri Aaawaaz Suno’ was directed by S.V. Rajendra Singh for ‘Padmalaya Films, Madras’. It was produced by G.A. Sheshgiri Rao.

Story of this movie was written by H.K. Ananta Rao. S.V. Rajendra Singh also wrote this movie and screenplay of this movie.

Dialogues of this movie were written by Kader Khan. Editing of this movie was done by K. Gopala Rao.

The star cast of this movie included Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Parveen Babi, Ranjeet, Vijay Arora, Kader Khan, Om Shivpuri, Shakti Kapoor, Tamanna, Urmila Bhatt, Asrani, Pinchoo Kapoor, Raj Mehra, Rajan Haksar, Manmohan Krishan and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 23.11.1981. It seems that this movie was released in the theatres in Dec’1981, or later than that.

This movie had five songs written by Anand Bakshi which were composed to music by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Here is the list of songs of this movie :-

SNo Song Title Singer/s
01 Haay kya soch rahi ho … Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle
02 O tumhe dekha hai to aisa lagta hai Asha Bhonsle
03 Achchaa hua tum mil gaye Asha Bhonsle
04 Gudiya re gudiya re, tu batlaa meri gudiya kaisi hogi (two versions) Asha Bhonsle
05 Mehmaanon ko salaam hai mera, he he Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle

Today’s song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle. It is lip-synced by Jeetendra and Parveen Babi. Ranjeet, Raj Mehra, Rajan Haksar (hope I am correct), Pinchoo Kapoor, Kader Khan and others are also present among the audience in the song.

With this song, ‘Meri Aawaaz Suno-1981’ makes its debut on the blog.

Let us now enjoy this song.

Hullo Atuldom

This is something which I have always felt. I read the title or heading of a song posted on the blog and immediately I recall another song that has similar thoughts, actions or beginning words in the lyrics. I had the same experience a few days back.

Let me explain. Last time the writing bug bit me, and I was writing this post, I had mentioned Farah Khan’s aunts – Honey and Daisy Irani in the post. As a next step I just looked up if any of their birth dates were in the next few days. I went a little further and just checked out which were the debut movies of the two super-cute sisters and found various sites giving names of different movies.

This Post by our in-house encyclopedia gives a brief biography of the two sisters. I also read Shri. Nayan Yagnik’s comments to the post, where he has mentioned that Honey Irani was youngest among the siblings and that ‘Didi’ or ‘Zameen ke Taare’ could be the debut of Honey. One thing definitely came out of all this research- I recollected a song from the ’80s which I used to hum and was full of ‘Anokhe Bol’.

The 1980s song that I am talking featured the Oh So Gorgeous!! Parveen Babi, Shatrughan Sinha, and Master Vishal. The song was shot in Byculla Zoo of Bombay which was called Victoria Gardens in those days. (This Zoo was renamed as Veermata Jijabai Bhonsale Udyan sometime after 1985 and Bombay became Mumbai. I am sure the older followers of this blog will tell if I am right.)

I am able to locate only a audio link of the song, but having seen it a number of times in Chitrahaar and other such television programmes, I can say that this song is meant to amuse a child who is upset that his family is no more.

Shatrughan Sinha, who plays a cop, is out to solve a triple murder, the child is the only one who escapes. Parveen Babi is the cop’s friend and she helps the cop become friendly with the glum child. Vinod Mehra, Bindiya Goswami (in guest appearances) and Ashok Kumar are the parents and grandfather of the boy who have been killed, Nirupa Roy played the grandma. Kadar Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Narendranath, Zarina Wahab, Kalpana Iyer, Imtiaz Khan, Satyen Kappu and Amjad Khan were the rest of the cast. The song I am bringing on-board here is from “Chor Police” (1983) which was the directorial debut of Amjad Khan and produced by his wife Shehla Khan and Vinay Kumar Sinha (who was Amjad Khan’s secretary too). It had RD Burman’s music and songs were written by Nida Fazli. Suresh Wadkar, Asha Bhonsle, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Vinod Sehgal and Vanita Mishra were the playback singers used.

With this post we remember the heroine of this film, Parveen Babi who died on 20th January in 2005. She died a loner and her body was discovered by the police two days later when her neighbours saw uncollected groceries, milk and newspapers outside her door. She was only 50.

Today’s song is from the film ‘The Burning Train -1980’.

‘The Burning Train -1980’ was the 275th movie to be introduced on the blog on the 143rd day of the blog (on 8 december 2008) . Today the number of movies launched on the blog has reached 4562 on 12 January 2022. These numbers give us some idea of the long journey of the movie ‘The Burning Train” on the blog. 😊

The first song from this movie was posted on 08.12.2008. Today, 4784 days later(on 12.01.2022) we are posting the final song from this movie. So, “The Burning Train-1980” finally arrives at its destination YIPPEE station on the blog today. It becomes the 1304th movie to get YIPPEED in the blog.

“The Burning Train-1980” was one of the most ambitious movies from the Chopras’ (B.R. Chopra Films). It had a long list of star-artists performing in it.
I vaguely remember to have watched this movie with my parents when I was a child. Later, as I grew, I kept reading about this movie and kept listening to its songs as I liked them all. I think this movie should be ‘one of the most discussed or hyped but less successful commercially movie ’ of its time.

I loved to watch this movie whenever it was played on Cable TV or TV channels. It must have been liked by many like me and may be many in the new generations in eighties, nineties and more. This movie has good songs written by Sahir and composed by R.D. Burman. Especially its qawwali ‘pal do pal ka saath hamaara’ is liked even today.

‘The Burning Train -1980’ was directed by Ravi Chopra for B.R. Films, Bombay. It was produced by B.R. Chopra. Ravi Chopra also wrote the story of this movie.

It had Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Neetu Singh, Danny, Vinod Mehra, Jeetendra, Navin Nischol, Simi, Asha Sachdev, Padmini Kapila, Romesh Sharma, Payal, Asrani, Ranjeet, Iftekhar, Om Shivpuri, Sujit Kumar, Nana Palsikar, Rajendra Nath, Mukri, Keshto Mukherji, Padma Khanna, Komila Virk, Nazir Hussain, Indrani Mukherji, Paintal, Dinesh Thakur, Yunus Parvez, Shammi, Ravindra Kapoor, T.P. Jain, Jankidas, Jagdish Raj, Gufi, Sudha Shivpuri, M. Rajan, Uma Dhawan, Mac Mohan, Anand Balraj, Prem Bedi, Master Bittoo, Baby Khushboo, Junior Danny, Master Romy, Master Salim and others.

Madan Puri, Chandrashekhar, Satyen Kappu and Urmila Bhatt make a guest appearance in this movie.
Its screenplay and dialogues were written by Kamleshwar ji. Pran Mehra was the chief editor for this movie and S.B. Mane and R.P. Bapat assisted him. This movie was passed by Censor Board 20.03.1980.

This movie had six songs penned by Sahir Ludhianvi and composed by R.D. Burman. Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Padmini Kolhapure and Sushma Shreshtha and Usha Mangeshkar gave their voices to the songs in this movie.

So far, five songs from this movie have been posted on the blog earlier. Here are the details of all the six songs of this movie.

Teri nazar hai mujhpe
Isiliye rehte hain donon khoye huye
Ho
Laa laa laa
Laa laa laa laa laa
Laa laa laa
Meri nazar hai tujhpe
Teri nazar hai mujhpe
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa laa

Tere bina jiyaraa maane na aa aa
Tere bina jiyaraa maane na
Lagi agan ye kaisi
Haaye
Jaane na
Balmaa
O o sajna aa
Ho o tere bina jiyaraa maane na
Hey
Hey
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa laa
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa
Meri nazar hai tujhpe
Teri nazar hai mujhpe ae

Tere liye ae
Kaliyaan main chunti rahoon un un
Aashaaon ki
Maalaayein bunti rahoon
O o o o o
Jaage mein bhi
Sapnon mein khoyi rahoon oon
Sote mein bhi aahat si sunti rahoon
O saajna aa aa
Baalmaa
Mujhko kya ho gaya aa
Haaye
Ho jaanoon na
Jaanoon na
Ho o o
Tere bina jiyaraa maane na
Lagi agan ye kaisi
Haaye jaane na
Balmaa
Ho o sajna
Hey
Hey
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa
Laa laa laa laa laa laa laa
Meri nazar hai tujhpe
Teri nazar hai mujhpe

Mere bina
Ab tu bhi reh na sake
Ho tere bina
Ab main bhi reh na sakoon
Oo oo oo oo oo oo
Haaye magar tu bhi ye keh na sake
Haaye haaye magar
Main bhi ye keh na sakoon
Jaaneman kaho tum dil ko ye kya huaa hai
Ho
Jaanoon na
Jaanoon na
Meri nazar hai tujhpe
Teri nazar hai mujhpe
Isiliye rehte hain donon khoye huye
Ho
Laa laa laa laa laa laa
Laa laa laa laa laa laa
Tere bina jiyaraa maane na
Tere bina jiyaraa maane na
