nahm began to contribute lyrics in the blog from 8 feb 2011, about a month after Atif M (the first lyrics contributor in the blog). That made nahm the second regular lyrics contributor for the blog. The first song contributed by her that appeared in the blog was Do dil toote do dil haare (Heer Raanjha)(1970). This was followed by Aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe (Shankar Hussain)(1976). The third contribution was Ab to hai yumse har khushi apni (Abhimaan)(1973).

This Non-Film Raaga Maala is by Ustad Ahmed Hussain and Ustad Mohammed Hussain. The composition is unique and very complex. The two brothers have incorporated 9 different ragas in each Antara (total 18 ragas in two antaras). Each time they mention a raga, they sing that verse in that particular raga. It is very admirable that the duo has written the lyrics themselves.

We in this blog have more than twenty contributors. They are all diehard music enthusiasts. It is easy to assume that they eat music, drink music and live music. But in reality they are multifaceted personalities who have specialised in some other field. Music is a passion for them and they manage to find considerable time for this inspite of their preoccupation in their field of specialisation.

When this blog began in 2008, there were very few visitors and hardly any comments. Everyone needs encouragement, and a blog like this was in sore need of visitors.

These days, we are introducing the regular contributors of the blog to the readers of this blog. We know most of our regulars for several years and we think that we have good information about many of them, but it is only when one begins to write about them that one comes across some unknown facts about our regulars.
Next in the series of our regular contributors, the name that I have taken up for discussion is Vidur Sury.

It is generally seen in many cases, when the nature or misfortune or destiny, inflict a handicap on a person, then the same nature itself will nurtures another aspect, another ability of that person and bestow another sensory gift to the individual. In our own sphere of awareness, I am sure we have seen many examples of individuals having some very debilitating handicap, but it is a wonder of nature that we see such individuals excel in something, some activity, some accomplishment, some art that at time defies belief.

10,000 songs! I’m very glad, that Atul asked me to supply a post for the countdown. Moreover I think it is a very good idea to let us introduce each other, this way, I think the Atulblog family comes to know each other better and also thus come closer. A family, which knows each other better, sings better.
