As mentioned in a few of my earlier posts I have been visiting Khandwa regularly from August 2015 onwards. In the past when I was staying at Kota (Rajasthan) I would pass through this place while going to Purna and Akola Junction from Kota, but I never got a chance of staying there and feel the ‘town’.

There was a very popular movie in our times… here I am considering the period of the late 70s when many of the followers of this blog were in high school or just out of school… no offence meant to the others in the blog. i know for a fact that even they would have enjoyed the movie I am talking of. ? SHANKAR-JAIKISHEN IN THE 50s….Song No 4

After having lost the melody and sweetness in their music post Junglee and after an attempt to redeem their prestige with a few sporadic melodies, Shankar Jaikishan came closest to their earlier magic with Teesri Kasam-66. Mukesh was just superb. Except for their songs made for Shammi Kapoor films, rest of their songs failed miserably. There was a talk in the industry about their differences and decline. This of course did not bother them much.
