Introduction songs were quite frequent in Bollywood movies till 1970s. Later on, they become less frequent.

In Bollywood movies, hero who is betrayed tends to sing sad songs. In those songs, the hero laments his bad luck, but he would rarely wish ill for his beloved. These songs may wallow in self pity but bitterness towards the lady in conspicuous by its absence.

“Waqt” (1965) was the movie that started the fad of lost and found movies which was so eagerly lapped up by Manmohan Desai one decade later. In this movie, there are three sons and the parents and they get separated from each other after an earthquake and reunite only in the last reel. So B R Chopra showed the way as far as lost and found movies were concerned.

I know that a song sung by two singers ( typically one male and one female singer) is called a duet or “dogaana”, but what about a song sung by three singers ? Anyone has any idea ? Is it called a “tigaana” or a “triet” ?
