In Bollywood movies, hero and heroines would traditionally meet in gardens and would be going round the trees, much like gorillas or chimps going through their mating rituals. Being more evolved than the apes, they would sing a duet while running around trees.

“Raja” (1975) was a movie starring Rishi kapoor and Sulakshana Pandit. Few people ( including me) were aware of the existence of this movie. I was of course aware about the songs without knowing which movie these songs were from.

Apart from the more popular songs of “Junglee”, I do not have much idea about other lesser known songs. For example, I was not aware that “Kashmir ki kali hoon main” is song from “Junglee”. One would expect it to be from “Kashmir ki kali”, is it not ?

Apart from mainstream movies, which meant “action” movies in 1970s, there were social/family movies as well in those days. One major maker of such movies was Rajshree productions. In addition, there were a few south Indian producers of such social/ family movies as well.
