Madan Mohan is often associated with serious ghazal songs sung by Lata. But Madan Mohan has composed all kinds of songs including light hearted and non serious songs sung by several singers. In fact, the Madan Mohan song that climbed the highest in Binaca Geetmala annual charts in his lifetime was not a ghazal by Lata but a mela song by Asha Bhonsle. When it comes to a movie called “Albelaa”, there have been two movies of this name. “Albelaa” (1952) , which had Bhagwan and Geeta Bali in lead roles was a mega hit. This movie was a musical blockbuster too. Another movie of the same name was released in 1971. This movie, which was produced by Mehmood was not a success at the box office, but this movie had some very nice songs in it. I have already posted one lovely song-Devta maanaa aur pooja teri tasweer ko (Albelaa) – from this movie.

I sincerely believe that parents should take care of their kids and they should not deprive them of their basic requirements. And what did a kid like me want in 1972 as his basic requirement ? I badly wanted to see “Seeta Aur Geeta” (1972). The songs of this movie had such a pied piper like effect that everyone was attracted towards the movie halls screening this movie. My elders too agreed to take me to watch this movie and I was so happy with the prospect of being able to watch the movie and to have the best moment of my life till then.

When I was a kid and I used to listen to songs on Radio, I thought that all the songs being broadcast on radio were being sung live by the singers. So I thought that singers whose songs were broadcast so frequently were so overworked, having to sing live so often !

These news channels are often short of ideas and they try to create news out of thin air and call that as “breaking news”. Typically the reporter of the channel will go to a certain site and try to describe a breaking news item, and he will struggle to find things to say.
