Pancham’s Music – Eighties (1981-1990) -1 (1981)
————————————————————–

We are back to ‘Pancham’s musical world’ again, or rather let me take you there once again 😊!

Regulars on the blog are well aware that I have been looking for movies that made their debut in the initial months of the blog and later got neglected so much so that, they had to wait for their second song on the blog for more than ten to twelve years.

Happy Independence Day to all!!!

Today (15 august 2021),We are celebrating the seventy-fifth year of our hard-fought freedom that we got on 15th August in 1947. We can breathe in this free air now because many had sacrificed their present at that time for our future. There are many known and too many unknown freedom fighters who laid down their lives to see India as a free nation. The nation has grown up to seventy-four years old now and is stepping into the seventy-fifty year of its life.

While we in this blog discuss songs, we also discuss other topics of common interest, like sports (mainly cricket), festivals, history, economy etc.

Tokyo Olympics concluded a few days back. As Indians, we had lots of sporting events to look forward to. Indians were participating in many events. Indians had pinned hopes of medals on quite a few of them, seeing that some of them were actually ranked world number 1, 2, 3 etc in their sports and they were given similar seedings too in the Olympics. But most of these sportspersons disappointed.

Hullo Atuldom

“Bond 303” (1985) was produced B.C. Devra and directed by Ravi Tandon. It was one of those movies that was in the making for a long time.

It was one of the three movies that had Jeetendra play a Spy- an Indian James Bond. His James Bond act began with his ‘mast bahaaron ka main aashiq’ in “Farz” (1967) continued with “Raksha” (1981) {in both these movies Jeetendra was Agent 116}. “Bond 303” was the third in that list.

Rafi Sahab’s Legendary Associations – 6
———————————–————––—

Remembering Mohammed Rafi Sahab on his 41st remembrance day :

Writing a post of a song by Mohammed Rafi Sahab is almost a second nature thing for me. I have not counted but nearly 50 % on my post must be of his songs, the exalted one, who was especially blessed by the Almighty with a life, spend smiling and spreading smiles as far as I know. Some people do want to remember him by the sad songs which he sang with equal spirit, giving them his all, that the song, situation and composition demanded, the same as he did for other songs. I found this photo, and see who has the widest smile of them all: this and this .

Hullo Atuldom

This post by Avinashji reminded me of today’s song.

“Naam” (1986) had a cast headed by Nutan, Poonam Dhillon, Amrita Singh, Kumar Gaurav and Sanjay Dutt along with a few familiar faces forming the supporting cast. Pankaj Udhas had a guest appearance in the iconic song “Chitthi aayi hai aayi hai chitthi aayi hai“.

Slowly, steadily, and unnoticeably, the blog reaches yet another blog century. This post is post number 16500 for the blog. In other words, this song is the 165th century post for the blog.

When I thought about writing an article to go with post, I considered going through all the previous century posts. I kept going backwards from 164th century post, 163rd century post. After ten such posts, I gave up. If someone thinks that 164 songs and 164 song articles is a small number, then please try to do that exercise yourself. If one has to make a playlist of these century songs, the entire playlist will play for more than eight hours !

Hullo Atuldom

18th July 2012- nine years to the date since the first superstar of Bollywood passed away. An actor who charmed his way into the hearts of his (female) fans with a smile that reached his eyes and could express his emotions with his eyes.

The style with which he said “Pushpa, I hate tears”. Or the the way he said “why are you roing?” to his girlfriend (Farida Jalal) who has come to wish him ‘all the best’ as he is leaving for the war.
