One of the objectives of this series is to launch the missing films from this decade 1971-1980 on the blog; rather it is the foremost objective. So those, then one by one all the films for all the calendar years (of this decade) are covered in the blog.

I have not watched many of these films too and also in many cases have never heard their songs before. Dushman (1971) was a movie starring the hit Jodi of the 70s viz. Rajesh Khanna- Mumtaz. It was the story of a convict who is given a punishment with a difference. His truck runs over a villager who is the only earning member of the family. The poor victim is responsible for his old parents, unmarried sister and his own family –wife and two kids. Now the judge gives the truck driver (Rajesh Khanna) a punishment to look after the family, their field etc. in the village he comes across a girl who shows bioscope shows to the children in and around the village. Falls in love with her. Tries to solve all the problems of the accident victims’ family etc. this is the story in brief.

On our blog we already have a film titled ‘Ustaad Pedro-1951’. There was a film titled as only ‘Pedro-1960’ which is yet to make a debut on the blog.
Today we have a song from the film ‘Ustaad Pedro’ which came in 1971. This film was passed by the censor board on 28.09.1971. It had Sheikh Mukhtar, Meena Rai, Jeewan, Padma Khanna, Asha Nadkarni, Kundan, Raka, Shyam Kumar, Helen, Junior Mehmood, Master Dingoo, Sadik, Hamid, Kaku, Fazlu, Bihari, B.A.Bagi and new face Anil Dutt. It was directed by Chand for ‘Time-Life Films, Bombay’. Music for this film was composed by C.Arjun and lyrics were written by Asad Bhopali.

The picture shows one of the scenes of my dream we all know that the weirdest things in this world are dreams. Before this dream I read a book – ‘The midnight theft’. The name sounds good but the contents was just horrible. Now the question comes that if I found the book was such, then why did I go on to read the whole book. The film ‘Jwala’ was started sometimes in the second half of 1950s. It was finally released in 1970, a year after the passing away of Madhubala. As with some of her last films, this film also has deficient and compromised editing, and possible use of a double in some scenes, just to try and complete the storyline. But forever, this will be known as her last released film.
