The film that we are bringing to the Yippeee-land today, has been waiting for the final song for the last almost three years. The 1970 film ‘Maa Ka Aanchal’ had made its debut on the blog on 10th May, 2012. Exactly three years later, on 10th May, 2015, the fifth song of this film was posted. As I look at these dates, I am tempted to defer this posting to 10th May, just to complete a sequence. But then I thought better of it. 🙂

Hullo Atuldom
Remembering today a producer- director who started his career in Bollywood in the year 1948. Our in-house encyclopaedia has already enlightened us that this was as a writer for an AR Kardar film of Filmistan. The other Filmistan movies that carry his name as writer are ‘Anarkali’ (1953), ‘Munimji’ (1955), and ‘Paying Guest’ (1957).

I had promised my co-Atulite and friend Avinash Ji that my next post will be of a song to his liking and which he, as probably many of us, have forgotten in more than four decades since this movie has been released. Some of the readers may be hearing this song for the first time.

It’s not easy writing this. I’ve written many posts here on the death anniversaries of various artistes – but in all those cases, I’ve had the benefit of distance of time from the event. Even if it is the first death anniversary, at least 365 days have passed since. That does make a difference. Today’s post isn’t a death anniversary post. It’s a tribute post, of course, but the artiste in question has just left us a few hours ago! And we are still in mourning. Which is why I write this post now with a lot of sadness in my heart.

Missing Films of 1960s – 61
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
With this post, this series enters the sixties. 😀 😀
No no, I do not mean to say that we are entering the 1960s, we did that long back. In fact this blog itself started with the 1960s – the song “Miley Na Phool To. . .” from the film ‘Anokhi Raat’ is from the 1960s. With this post, we now come upon the 61st episode of this series. The home work assignment given by Katie Ben, has now come a long way in adding more new, I mean, as yet unrepresented films to the blog. This series was initiated on 20th September, 2015, and we are now into the 29th month that this series has been pursued. In the process, we have added 61 more films from the 1960s, to this blog. Some more interesting details about this journey, coming up in the next episode.
