Hullo Atuldom
I know of two movies that go by the name ‘Duniya’. One was in 1968 which had Dev Anand and Vyjayantimala in the lead and the second ‘Duniya’ (1984) had Dev Anand’s contemporary Dilip Kumar with Ashok Kumar in central roles around which Rishi Kapoor and Amrita Singh’s characters were built.

Today 27th June (27th June, 1939 – 4th Jan, 1994) is the 79th birth anniversary of Rahul Dev Burman, whom we fondly remember as ‘Pancham’.
On this occasion here is a song from the 1985 Movie ‘Sitamgar’. Th film was directed by Raj N Sippy for Bikramjeet Films International, Bombay and produced by Bikram Singh Dehal. It had Dharmendra, Parveen Babi, Rishi Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, Prem Chopra, Jagdish Raj, Gurbachan, Ranvir Raj, Azad, Tilak Mehta, Raj Kaul, Shamsuddin, Nath Kamle, Ved Akash, Ashok Gaekwad, Master Alankar and Baby Geeta. Narendra Nath, Sonia Shania and Sudhir make special appearance in this movie.

Yesterday, 25th June was the birthday of actor Raghuveer Yadav and we wish him a very happy birthday and a healthy and peaceful life ahead. (In the anniversary list on our blog his birth date is mentioned as Jan 1st, however almost all of the internet sites that I came across during search for his biography have mentioned 25th June’1957 as his date of birth. So now I only have doubt about the year of his birth if it is correct, the reason is mentioned in the write up below.

“Thevar Magan” was a 1992 Tamil movie produced by Kamal Hassan and directed by Bharathan with music by Ilaiyaraja and a cast of Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Hassan, Revathi, Gouthami and Nassar. The story in one line is thus- a reluctant educated son ascending a throne full of thorns. This movie was remade in Hindi in 1997 by Mushir-Riaz produtions with Priyadarshan as the director. Here the cast was headed by Anil Kapoor and Amrish Puri with Milind Gunaji, Tabu and Pooja Batra. Both movies credited Kamal Hssan as the storywriter.

The song with this post is a Peevesie discovery. I don’t remember when exactly, but definitely a few years back she mentioned about this song to me. And it looks like she has seen and enjoyed the video too and it has stayed in her memory. She remembered exactly how the song starts. And the dance steps of Govinda and Madhuri. Awesome combination. Just like in the previous Madhuri Dixit song where with Prabhu Deva as her co-dancer, here too, she is excellent. She is in a different orbit when she has a dancer for a co-actor. In “Que serasera” she matched Prabhu Deva step for step, here it is a typically Govinda dance that is a treat.

The earliest model of large studios as centers of film production activities, was somewhat immune to the craziness of financial pressures.
