This song is in his memory. This song also happen to be a parody song. No, no, I am not doing a series on parody songs. It is just a coincidence that I got hold of a second rare song which is also a parody song.

Today’s song is from film ‘Anban’ (1944) (pronounced as un-bun). So far, only one song from this film has been discussed on our blog in 2011. This is, therefore, the second song from this film. No songs of this film are available anywhere like You Tube etc. Then, how did I get introduced to this song ? There is a story behind this.

I was surprised how this song was not yet posted here so long. The song is sung by Geeta Dutt, written by Indeevar, it is composed by by a talented but a moderately successful composer- Bulo C. Rani.

Hussain was born in Bombay on 25-2-1918. He directed about 40 odd films, which included some known names like Roop lekha-49, Sipah salar-56,Qaidi-57, Aji bas shukriya-5d, Delhi Junction, Shikari,Faulad,Teesra kaun,Thakur jarnial singh, Dilruba,CID 909,Jaal saaz and lastly Madina masjid-77.

Today’s song is from the film Captain India-1960. Not only this film is making a Debut on the Blog, but its Music Director- Hemant Kedar- too is making his Debut here. It is a rare occasion these days that a music Director makes his Debut in the blog, because we have covered so many MDs already ( at my last count, we have covered 462 MDs on this Blog). However, there are still a large number of MDs whom we have yet to listen. From 1931 to till today, as per a rough estimate, there could be almost 500 to 700 Music Directors.
