There are many artists for whom I’ve written posts here, remembering them on their birth or death anniversaries. But there are two artists who have featured more than others in this regard. I remember them every day anyway – so on their anniversary it is only a matter of a different intensity. I am grateful to them every single day for their legacy, the treasure trove they have left us behind with. They are long gone now from this world – coincidentally they went within a few months of each other – but they remain, and will always remain, in my heart. And not just my heart, but millions of hearts. Such is the love we have for them, such is the hold they have over us.
I am of course talking about two giants of the industry – Rafi Saab and Sahir Ludhianvi.

The novel “Parineeta” penned by Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay has been used in several movies in Hindi as well as in other languages. Some movies had the same title, viz Hindi movies “Parineeta”(1953) and “Parineeta”(2005). Then there have been other movies where the film title was different.
“Sankoch”(1976) was a Hindi movie which was based on the novel “Parineeta”. This movie was directed by Anil Ganguly for Suyog Films, Bombay.

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 64# Singer – Kishore Kumar
———————————————–—————————-
In my opinion, Kishore Kumar’s voice reached a different and special plane altogether during late 1960s as compared to his voice prior to earlier years i.e. pre ‘Padosan'(1968) and ‘Aradhana’ (1969). He retained that “something special” in his voice for the rest of his career. His voice was at its versatile peak during this phase of his career.

It’s not easy writing this. I’ve written many posts here on the death anniversaries of various artistes – but in all those cases, I’ve had the benefit of distance of time from the event. Even if it is the first death anniversary, at least 365 days have passed since. That does make a difference. Today’s post isn’t a death anniversary post. It’s a tribute post, of course, but the artiste in question has just left us a few hours ago! And we are still in mourning. Which is why I write this post now with a lot of sadness in my heart.

First of all, I have to express my gratitude to this blog once again, it is only because of this blog that am able to share this post here. Though I have already shared many posts earlier, but today the personality I am writing about is of such a great stature that it is my fortune and blessings of this blog that I am able to do this.
Today we remember Ramchandra Narayandutt Dwivedi whom we fondly admire and respect as ‘Kavi Pradeep’ or ‘Rashtra Kavi Pradeep’ on the anniversary of his birth. He was born on 6th February,1915 and passed away on 11th December,1998 leaving behind a great legacy or even I can say a ‘heritage’ – a national heritage of his immortal poems and his ‘voice’.
