Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 97
———————————————————————————–
‘Jab Se Tumhe Dekha Hai-1963’ is an eligible movie under the ‘Blog Ten Year Challenge’ today (30 november 2020) as one of its songs was posted on 30.11.2010.
Though one song of this movie was also posted on 18.11.2010, we missed the opportunity of discussing its song on that day ten years later. Our dear Prakash ji had already sent lyrics for two songs to cover these two occasions. Today gives us another opportunity of covering a song from this movie under the “Blog Ten Year Challenge” series.
Following six posts were published this day ten years ago on 30 november 2010:-
| Song | Movie title-Year | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| Jhoome re kali bhanwraa ulajh gayaa kaanton mein | Naukri-1954 | All songs covered |
| Hamko hanste dekh zamaanaa jalta hai | Ham Sab Chor Hain- 1956 | All songs covered |
| Aag lagaanaa kyaa mushkil hai | Kangan-1959 | All songs covered |
| Maane naa maane naa maane naa | Saweraa-1958 | All songs covered |
| Ye din din hain khushi ke | Jabse Tumhe Dekha Hai-1963 | 03 songs posted |
| Hamse hoti muhabbat jo tumko | Muhabbat Isko Kehte Hain-1965 | All songs covered |
Though the blog scored a ‘sixer’ on the last day of the month of that year 2010 it left ‘three balls’ without scoring a single run 😊 i.e. 27th, 28th & 29th November’2010 were the ‘dot’ days for the blog. Still it managed to hit a century with this ‘six’ on the last day of the month. Total score of posts of November’2010 is 105. (Things like this happen in Hindi movies or specially in ‘MKD’ movies 😊

Today’s song is from the film Kaise Kahoon-1945.
To start with, Bombay was the first film making centre followed closely by Calcutta. Slowly, some other centres like Madras, Coimbatore, Poona, Bangalore etc. as occasional film centres also developed. In 1924,i.e. 11 years after the first silent feature film was released in Bombay, Lahore made its first silent film-“The daughters of Today”. It was made and released in Lahore. This film was made by Mr. G K Mehta, a former officer of North Western Railways, who had imported a Camera from London. A R Kardar, who was making posters for foreign film productions and who was a qualified well known Calligrapher, assisted Mehta. Kardar and his friend Ismail both also acted in that film.

Today we are remembering a celebrity who began his life as a Professor of Civil Engineering in a Mumbai engineering college. A huge fan of Dilip Kumar, he was spotted by comedian Agha when he was performing in a play “Taash ke Pattey”. The play was recommended to Dilip saab who saw it, and signed this Professor/ stage actor for “Sagina” and “Bairaag”. This was the start of a career that spanned from the ’70s to 2019 – Govinda starrer Rangeela Raja released in 2019.

On the blog, other than sharing songs and posts for special occasions we also simultaneously work on ‘different projects’ from time to time. One of the projects that I have taken up is to introduce ‘movies having same titles’ on the blog.
We also combine launching of new ‘movie’ with special occasions like anniversaries of artists, actors, actresses etc.
Today I am presenting a song from the 1973 movie ‘Qeemat’. We already have a movie titled ‘Qeemat-1946’ on the blog and all its songs have also been covered on the blog.

ik arz meri maan lo daftar ko jaana hai
mangal ka din hai aaj koi itwaar nahin hai
These two lines in the song “kyun garm sard hote ho takraar nahin hai” from ‘Chokori’ (1949) sung by Mohammed Rafi has made me to present this song which was not available on-line until SAREGAMA uploaded the audio clip of this rare song on one of the video sharing platforms in early 2019.
