Today (19 october 2014) is the 58th birthday of Sunny Deol (DoB 19 october 1956). He is an actor from the post golden era and he worked in movies that I regard as “new” movies. To realise that a post golden era actor (and the son of a golden era actor) like him has turned 58 now means that time has flown faster than I realise. 🙂 In fact this is the era when children of post golden era of Hindi movies are active !

Yesterday was another day with no posts in the blog. I began a long and gruelling return journey from early hours of yesterday and arrived back this morning, some 28 hours later. I was able to connect on the internet during this journey but I spent this time catching up with the pending housekeeping works of the blog instead of trying to discuss more songs which would have resulting in postponing the housekeeping works even further.

We have covered over ten thousand songs in the blog still we have some extremely well known songs that still remain to be covered. Sometimes even I am not aware that they have not been covered as I am under the impression that these songs were covered long back. We call such songs as belonging to the genre of “How come this song was not discussed so far”. 🙂

Today (17 octobr 2014) is the birth anniversary of Simi Garewal (DoB 17 october 1947). If there is one person who can be described to be an ageless wonder then it has to be her. She has not changed much in appearance for over 50 years right from the time she made her debut in Hindi movies in 1962.

The blog has seen two dry days in a row when no new posts were made. It is something unusual for the blog but it cannot be avoided. As it is, I was travelling all these days. In fact my travel is not over yet. I have to commence my return journey from today and it will be another couple of days before I arrive back at my base.

The 3rd death anniversary of Ghazal King Jagjit Singh was on October 1Oth and the 76th birth day of Urdu poet and lyricist Nida Fazli was on October 12th. For the occasions, I had planned to write a combined post and had selected a song months back to be posted on the Blog in October 1Oth or 12th. But some other activities relating to travels and pre Deewali atmosphere in my house resulted in diversion of my mind and in the process, I completely forgot about writing the article for the occasion. It was only when I saw a post on the occasion of the birthday of Nida Fazli that I got reminded of my pending article. Even though anniversary dates have passed, it is never late for paying tributes.
