#the Decade of Eightees – 1981 – 1990 #
————————————————————————

Yesterday (on 18th March 2023) evening, Peevesie’s Mom ji called me to tell me how once again I got a ‘song’ posted on the blog that she had on her mind. It happened when she herself was about to start writing her write-up having done lots of background research (e.g. watching the movie etc). No, she was not remonstrating with me, rather she wondered how the both of us thought on the same wavelegth including selecting the same song for the same occasion. This had happened not once but twice on recent days.

———————————————————–—-
(A tribute to Music Director & Lyricist Ravi)
————————————————————————

Today I present a song from the movie ‘Mera Suhaag-1987’.

I was longing to share this song here for many years. I got to listen to this song, for the first time nearly one decade ago when I was staying in Kachchh (Gujarat). I used to commute from Mundra to my workplace near Adipur and back by ST (GSRTC) Bus. The driver of the Bus used to play songs from his pen drive daily. This song was among the songs played. I liked this song very much when I listened to it first time, and I got to listen to it on one or two more occasions during my commute.

Hullo Atuldom

I must say that I am spoilt with choices for a song to go with this post. I checked our blog’s “List Of Songs- Moviewise” page and I can see many eligible movies whose song can be used.

I think I will take the easy way out and settle for one of the movies from the 1980s whose most differently (hatke as filmfolk would like to say) romantic song is yet to arrive on the blog. This song shows how beautiful a simple sari-clad lady can look. Post this every actress worth her name was ready to drape a saree and romance the camera on the condition that it gave them as much fame as the lady in this Sky-Blue saree achieved. Of course, through the 100+ years of Indian cinema, a saree was considered sign of a Bharatiya (to be understood as domesticated) Nari. There were the odd songs or situations where the lady used to get wet & the wet-saree would make the villain lust after her or the hero would get passionate with her (depending on who is with the lady in the scene).

# 1983 Songs – Century Celebrations # Debutant Movie- “Woh Saat Din”

Regulars on the blog must be aware of my love for the year 1983. It was an important year of my life as I had appeared and successfully passed the Board exams for standard 10th that year. And the other important and unforgettable happening of the year was India winning the World Cup of Cricket in that year.

There were many other things also but here we come back to our most favorite topic i.e. Hindi films.
