‘Adhikaar’ meaning ‘Rights’ is a title that has been used four times by Bollywood. This information I gathered from the blog’s ‘List of songs- Moviewise’ tab. Of the four films titled ‘Adhikaar’ the ones released in 1938, 1954, and 1971 have already made their debut on the blog; in fact the ones released in 1954 and 1971 have been Yippeee’d too. The 1938 ‘Adhikaar’ has four out of seven songs on the blog. Today’s post sees ‘Adhikar’ (1986) make is debut on the blog. The song with this post is the one that plays as the movie’s titles play on-screen and we can see this ‘Adhikar’ is an ‘a’ short.

Govind Arun Ahuja is the son of former actor Arun Kumar Ahuja and singer-actress Nirmala Devi. We all know Govind Arun Ahuja as Govinda, he is the youngest of six children. Hope all are fine after a week of festivities and excitement. This morning I got a smart message on WhatsApp: “Tyohaar ke baad ghar mein Lakshmiji aaye na aaye, shareer mein Ganeshji zaroor aa jaate hai”- I am sure, many are facing this syndrome as well as a lot of lethargy after the bout of eating sweets and savouries. So, we are going to have a song that will compel us to wear our dancing shoes, shake a leg etc. This should help to shake away the extras that have gathered in our system, in this last week.

Hullo Atuldom
Day 1 of Sharad Navratr. Ashwin Navratr. Various names for the same festival, various ways to celebrate. I have received pictures of ‘Ghatta-sthapana’, ‘Devi Shailputri’, and of course the South Indian ‘Bomma Kolu’ (or Golu depending on your mother tongue). There is a lot of beauty in the manner in which we decorate our Gods and enjoy the festival. There are special offerings, poojas, archanas, bhajans and BHOJANS too (going by the name ‘Bhog’). Then there is the ever so colour raas garba in Western India, Gujarat and Maharashtra in particular. (May not be organised on a grand scale this year, as we are still worried about the consequences of the Pandemic. Grandeur can wait)
