Today (14 november 2014) is Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday. He was very fond of Children and so his birthday began to be celebrated as “Bal Divas” or Children’s day in India. It is clear that this day became “Children’s day” in India only after Indian Independence. I am not aware when this day was first celebrated this way. I request our senior regulars to throw light on this matter.

On October 10th 2014, the frozen in time diva Bhanurekha Ganeshan (the birth name of the person we know as just Rekha) turns 60. I had a tough time trying to select a song for the occasion. At first I thought I will do the usual of finding an Amitabh- Rekha song as their birthdates are 10th and 11th October.
