It had Rishi Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor from the Kapoor clan heading the cast with Padmini Kolhapure, Nanda, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Raza Murad, Leela Mishra, Sushma Seth, Bindu, Om Prakash, Kiran Vairale featuring in prominent roles/characters. I have been listening to this song since my childhood and I have been liking it without any apparent reason. May be the overall composition touched me somewhere and it remain in my memory since then. Later, as I grew up and listened to this song, I liked its lyrics very much and continue to enjoy it whenever it was played around on radio or elsewhere.

Today 1st May’2022 is the one hundred and third birth anniversary of legendary Singer Manna Dey (01.05.1919-24.10.2013). As a tribute to him, I am presenting a motivational song sung by him from the movie ‘Prahaar-1991’.
‘PRAHAAR: The Final Attack’ was a film Produced by Sudhakar Bokade and Directed by Nana Patekar. The star cast includes Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit, and Gautam Joglekar who played the second lead with Madhuri Dixit. Prominent Stage artist Shri.Habib Tanvir played the role of Gautam’s father.
The film was produced under the banner of ‘Divya Films combine’. Its cinematography was done by Debu Deodhar.

Today’s song is from the ‘1981’ movie ‘Meri Aaawaaz Suno’.
This movie was passed by Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate, so people of my age then (I was around 13 years old) were not eligible to watch this movie during its first run.
However, I remember that our seniors used to discuss this movie and the brutal violence shown in it. What I vaguely remember about this movie is that Jeetendra plays a double role – one of dreaded murderer and one of a sincere and dedicated police officer. I think the music of this film was also overall good. I carried the memory of a couple of songs from this movie. I am presenting one of them today.
