“Shehnaayi” (1964) was a New Oriental Pictures production. It was directed by S D Narang. The movie had Biswajeet, Rajshree, Johnny Walker, Veena, Chand Usmani, Nirupa Roy, Asit Sen, Iftekhar, Leela Chitnis, D. K. Sapru, Parveen Choudhary etc in it.

Though “Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka” (1975) is a recent movie by the standards of this blog, this movie is not all that well known today. Perhaps a TV serial of the same name has hijacked the title and that has pushed the information about the movie of 1975 back.

Today (2 august 2012) is the day of Raksha Bandhan, also known as “Raakhi”. It turns out that there are at least two movies called “Raakhi” which were made on this festival. One of these movies was released on 1949. The second movie of this title was released in 1962.

“Waqt” (1965) was one of the most influential Hindi movies of all times. The story of “Waqt” (1965) was by no means original, but the scale and presentation of the the story was was certainly grand. I have already given several reasons in the past why I call this movie an influential movie.
