I began “Blog Ten year challenge (2009-2019)” early this year. As many as ten songs are covered in this series so far. Three other regulars (viz M/s Avinash Scrapwala, Sadanand Kamath and Sudhir Ji) have also chipped in with their articles in this series. In this series, we cover a song from a movie whose song (some other song obviously) was covered in the blog ten years ago on the same day.
There were days when no movies were eligible for “Blog Ten year challenge (2009-2019)” because all the songs covered on that day ten years ago had been YIPPEED by now.

“Baalak”(1969) was directed by Adarsh for Kala Mandal, Bombay. This “social” movie had Master Suraj (Sarika), Jaimala, Dev Dutt, Jayshree T, Manmohan Krishna, Shyama, Jeewan, Jagdeep, Junior Mehmood, Abhi Bhttacharya, Chand Usmani, Bipin Gupta, Hiralal, Dhumal etc in it.

So what is so special about today? It is the birthday of an Atulite. And the wedding anniversary of another. For all this info we have to thank a third Atulite.
Ok I know that was a bit confusing. So here is wishing our Avey-of-Discard (if I may borrow Sudhirji’s code language) a very happy birthday. And thanks to our dejavu007 (another loan from a previous post of Sudhirji ;-)) so we were all activated when Shri. Dejavu007 wished Avey-of-Discard on whatsapp this morning. And promptly without batting an eyelid all of us copycats wished Avey-of-Discard a very Happy Birthday. (I am sure my fellow Atulwaasis won’t mind being called copycats as I was the lead copycat 🙂 ) And the gracious Avey-of-Discard (how about adding a ji to this code name, just a passing thought) gave us the info that it was another regular atulite’s wedding anniversary; that of the NeatInsider (oh I seem to be borrowing heavily today, hope this whole thing is free or today Sudhirji will become a lot richer due to the Byaaj I will have to pay for my borrowings 🙂 )

The movie had Ashok Kumar, Sarika, Vijayendra Ghatge,Zarina Wahab,Parikshit Sahni,Aruna Irani, Deven Varma, Brahmachari, Master Innu,Meena.T., Ruksana, M.B.Shetty,Preeti Ganguly with friendly appearances by Asha Parekh, Asit Sen, Anwar Hussain, Kundan, Maruti,Birbal, Chandrashekhar,
Harbans, Darshan.M.Arora etc.

“Geet Gaata Chal” (1975) was a Rajshree Productions movie. It was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Hiren Nag. The movie had Sachin, Sarika, Manhar Desai, Urmila Bhatt, Madan Puri, Leela Mishra, Khyati, Minoo Mehtab, Agha, Dhumal, Padma Khanna, V.Gopal, Swati, Mehmood Jr., Sunder, Ramayan Tiwari etc in it.
