Given that today is the celebration of Holi. Also given that there is this Hindi film which has a title based on this festival name. Further given that this film has a wonderful song which celebrates this festival, and the song ‘mukhda’ is based on the title of the film, which, as I said before, is based on this festival name. Then another given that this song has been quite popular in its time, and exists in the collective memory of the music lovers. Plus also given that this film is from 1970, which is an era that is verily fresh in the minds of the bandwagon companions, and other contemporary lovers of music. Furthermore. The best thing about Holi songs is that in most cases, the message of colors is immediately apparent in the coloring of the lyrics. The songs get created in the spirit of Holi itself. It is a social and group celebrations, and the songs of this festival are sung by multiple singers, and performed by a multitude of players on the screen. And as we sit down to color code the lyrics, the resulting view is as colorful as the festival itself.

Today (23 october 2014) is the festival of deepaawali. This festival is supposed to bring joy and happiness in the lives of everyone. I can certainly vouch for that. My main computer that has been hijacked by my wife for the last few days was surprisingly available to me this morning. I wake up earlier than others on the pretext of letting the dog out and teaching the daughter. The dogs were wide awake as usual but my daughter (and wife) are not (as usual). That gave me the opportunity of sitting on my main computer and try and give finishing touch to the posts for the day.
