There were talented music directors in Bollywood who failed to get enough opportunities to show their worth. Ganesh, the younger brother of Pyarelal ( of Laxmikant Pyarelal fame) was one such talent. The few opportunities that he got as music directors saw him give us a glimpse of his talent, but unfortunately his movies flopped taking the songs in their wake.

This is a duet sung by Lata and Kishore Kumar,two of the biggest names among playback singers. But the same cannot be said about the lyricist and the music director, both of whom were debutants. Maya Govind was the lyricist. She was arguably the first female lyricist in Bollywood. Bhupen Hazarika, known more for his playback singing was the music director of this movie.

The first time Ravindra Jain worked with Kishore Kumar was in “Chor machaaye shor”. What songs Kishore Kumar sang in that movie ! “Le jaayenge, le jaayenge” became an icon of an icon song and helped many careers.
