Today’s song is from the film Hanste Ansoo-1950.

Film Hanste Aansoo-1950 was produced and directed by K.B.Lall (born in 1911 at Meerut-U.P. Known for films like Lal Haveli-1944, Lal Dupatta-1948 and Hanste Aansoo-1950 etc. Died on 25-8-1975. He wrote the story as well as the screenplay. Lyricists were Shewan Rizvi and Majrooh Sultanpuri. Music was by Ghulam Mohammad. The cast of the film included Madhubala (17 years), Motilal (40 Years), Gope, Manorama, Jankidas, Mirza Musharraf etc.

The film, as such, though an ordinary one, was very successful. One of the main reasons for its success was that it was the FIRST Hindi film to be awarded an “A ” certifictae by the film Censor. The Censor also passed several (some of them were ridiculous) remarks on the film in general.

Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 68

Yet another rarely heard song of Asha Bhosle – “Kya Gazab Karte Ho Ji “ from “Love Story” (1981). It was written by Anand Bakshi and composed by R D Burman.

“Love Story” was jointly directed by Rahul Rawail and Rajendra Kumar, with Rajendra Kumar producing the film, under the banner “Dimple” films. The movie starred Kumar Gaurav, Vijayeta Pandit, Rajendra Kumar, Vidya Sinha, Danny Denzongpa, Amjad Khan, Jagdish Raj, T.P. Jain, Kamaldeep, Azad, Jezebel, Gufi Paintal, Farooque Shorty, Subhash, Amarjeet Sunder, Hangama, Shakeel, Laxman Thumre, Aruna Irani, Prem Kalra, Dev Kumar, Ram Mohan, Bharat Kapoor, Ram Sethi, Bina. The music is by R. D. Burman and lyrics by Anand Bakshi.

If one takes a look on Hindi films made with the title as ‘आम्रपाली’ (Amrapali), there are only two movies made with this title. The first movie was released in the year 1945 and the second one was released in the year 1966. All the songs for the movie of the year 1966 have been covered on this blog. That movie, whose music was composed by Shankar Jaikishan had some great songs in it.

‘Amrapali’ released in the year 1945 had eleven songs in it. Seven songs of this movie have been covered so far.

This historical movie was directed by Nandlal Jaswantlal for Murli Movietone, Bombay. The cast included Mala Sinha, Sanjay Khan, Nazima, Vijay Kumar, Johny Walker, Jagirdar, Amar, Pravin Paul, Bela Bose, Zeb Sultana, Tony Walker, Bela Bose, Ratan Gurung etc. The film’s producer, Tony Walker (real name: Kamaluddin Kazi) was Johny Walker’s brother and film’s other actor, Vijay Kumar ( real Name: Waheeduddin Kazi) was the youngest brother of Johny and Tony Walker. Probably, this was the only film in which all the three brothers acted together.
