# Bhoole-Bisre Geet #
————————————
Today’s song is from the movie ‘Dukh Sukh-1974’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 11.11.1974. This seems to be an obscure movie of its time as I could not find any video of the movie or its’ songson internet or any information about this movie except in Geet Kosh Vol-V (1971-1980). The details about this movie as mentioned in the Geet Kosh-Vol-V are as given below. I had shared these details earlier while presenting a Rafi song from this movie,‘mere paas aao de do sahaaraa’.
When I presented the above song from this movie more than five years back, only couple of songs from this movie were available, whereas many more songs from this movie have now become available.
‘Dukh Sukh-1974’ was directed by Majid Maqbool for Nausheen Films, Bombay. This movie had Sandeep Kumar, Shreedevi (I am not aware if she is the same Sreedevi that we know), Chaand, Majid Maqbool, Farshori, Swaroop, Shams, Lalitashri, Jyoti, Chandermohan, Revati, Hafeez, Khan, Pritam, Vijaya and others. As per HFGK Vol – V (1971-1980) this movie had five songs written by Javed Qadri and composed to music by Vitthal-Mumtaz. Geet Kosh has left space indicating more songs might have been recorded for this movie. The singers for the five songs listed in Geet Kosh are Manna Dey, Shashilata Virk, Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, and Krishna Kalle.

(Music Composer R.D. Burman’s Remembrance Anniversary)
——————————————————————
Today 4th January 2026 is the Remembrance Anniversary of Rahul Dev Burman fondly known by his nickname ‘Pancham’.
On this occasion we are paying our tributes to him by coverig a few of his compositions that have not yet been covered in the blog.
So far, we already have covered four songs composed by Pancham (including one shared by Nahm jee, which incidentally is a Pancham composition though not mentioned in the writeup). The earlier posts had songs sung by Mohd Rafi, Amit Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Yesudas and Kavita Krishnamurty. These four posts have taken care of several human emotions and moods except the feeling of sadness. Also so far, we have not covered a song in the voice of Kishore Kumar composed by Pancham today, without which the tributes will remain incomplete. In this post I am presenting a sad song sung by Kishore Kumar.

(Music Composer R.D. Burman’s Remembrance Anniversary)
——————————————————————
Today 4th January’2026 is the 33rd Remembrance Anniversary of Rahul Dev Burman fondly known as Pancham.
Rahul Dev Burman was born on 27th June 1939 and he passed away on 4th January 1994 at the age of just 54.
On this occasion we are presenting songs composed by Pancham that had not been covered before. In this post we cover a song from the 1987 movie ‘Itihaas’, which is a lesser known movie that has been forgotten with time.
‘Itihaas-1987’ was an unsuccessful movie in terms of box-office success. It was directed by V. Joshi for ‘Navjeevan Productions Pvt. Ltd., Bombay’. Tito was the producer of this movie which was passed by Censor Board on 30.01.1987. Sources mention that this movie was a remake of director V. The cast of the Hindi movie ‘Itihaas-1987’ had Raaj Kumar, Shabana Azmi, Rati Agnihotri, Anil Kapoor, Mohnish Behl, Danny Denzongpa, Suresh Oberoi, Nameeta Chandra, Dinesh Hingoo, Master Suresh, Hanifa, Ramesh Goel, Prema Narayan, Leena Das, Iftekhar, Jalal Agha, Raj Mehra and others. #the Decade of Nineties 1991-2000#
———————————————————————
Music Composer R.D. Burman’s Remembrance Anniversary
——————————————————————
Today 4th January 2026 is the 33rd Remembrance Anniversary of Rahul Dev Burman whom we fondly know by his nickname ‘Pancham’.
Rahul Dev Burman was born on 27th June 1939 and he passed away on 4thJanuary 1994 at the age of only 54.
Today, on this occasion, we will listen to a few songs composed by him.
The song in this post is from the decade of nineties. This was a period when Pancham was passing through a lean patch of his career till he bounced back in 1994 with the musical blockbuster ‘1942-A Love Story’.
This song is from the movie ‘Siyasat-1992’. It was directed by Sukhwant Dhadda for ‘Schell International’. Shashi Ranjan and Vinod Thakkar were the producers of this movie. This movie had Kumar Gaurav, Kimi Katkar, Shashi Ranjan, Shakti Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Deepa Sahi, Kunika, Gulshan Grover, Alok Nath, A.K. Hangal, Rajesh Puri, Rajhans and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 14.01.1992.
‘Siyasat-1992’ has three songs written by Hasan Kamal and composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The playback singers for this movie include Asha Bhonsle, Shailendra Singh, Amit Kumar, and Anuradha Paudwal.
Today I am presenting the first song from this movie which is sung by Asha Bhonsle. I could not locate the video of this song.
A poor quality print of this movie seems to be available on internet, however I have not watched it. I had not watched this movie when it was released.
This is a nice ‘joie-de-vivre’ type of song. Listening to this song reminds us of another composition from Pancham from the movie ‘Paanch Dushman-1973 (later released as ‘Daulat Ke Dushman-1983’). This song ‘samjhaa main kismat khul gayi’ from ‘Paanch Dushman’ was covered on the blog on 21.01.2022.
let us savour this lesser known composition of R D Burman….

Today on Pancham’s 33rd Remembrance Day we will be paying our tributes to him by listening to some of his compositions that were not yet presented till now.
