I sincerely believe that parents should take care of their kids and they should not deprive them of their basic requirements. And what did a kid like me want in 1972 as his basic requirement ? I badly wanted to see “Seeta Aur Geeta” (1972). The songs of this movie had such a pied piper like effect that everyone was attracted towards the movie halls screening this movie. My elders too agreed to take me to watch this movie and I was so happy with the prospect of being able to watch the movie and to have the best moment of my life till then.

“Adhikaar” (1954) is a forgotten movie by now, but what a remarkable movie it was. This movie had Kishore Kumar and Usha Kiran in lead roles who (if I am not wrong) play live in couple at least five decades earlier than when this concept became somewhat socially acceptable. And the same movie was remade as “Sweekaar Kiyaa Maine” in 1980s.

“Laawaaris” (1981) received a poor rating in the Hindi weekly magazine (Saaptaahik Hindustan) that I used to read those days. The movie reviewer (Ishwar Singh Bais) opined that the best scene in the movie was the scene where “The End” appeared on the screen.

“Jhootha Kahin ka” (1979) was one of the movies where Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh got paid for carrying out their romance in full public view. They were indeed so lucky to get paid for doing what they enjoyed.

Though boy and girl falling in love and singing love songs is a standard theme in Bollywood movies, such an activity is not as easy to carry out in real life India as is made out in Bollywood movies.
