Blog 10-Year Challenge (2011-2021) – Song No. 19
———————————————————————————–
This date ten years ago (viz 31 March 2011) was a thursday and a working day. On looking back at the posts in the blog, I notice that four songs from four different movies were covered on that day. It was slow going by the standards of the blog those days. The first post of the day appeared at 10:58 AM and the fourth and final post at 1:12 PM. So it appears that this day ten years ago was a day when I could not devote much time for blogging. My guess is that I was journeying on this day in the morning and I arrived at Nagpur (my base) in the morning at around 10 AM and that is when I started blogging for the day.
| Blog post number | Song | Movie (Year) | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3713 | Jo dard banke zamaane pe chhaaye jaate hain | Parbat Pe Apna Deraa(1944) | Posted at 10:58 AM. 5 songs (out of 9) covered by now |
| 3714 | Tirulila Tirulila Tirulila la | Daman(1951) | Posted at 11:28 AM. 8 songs out of 10 covered by now. |
| 3715 | Nashe mein jo daulat ke ham dagmagaaye | Sitaaraa(1955) | Posted at 11:56 AM. 8 songs out of 10 covered by now |
| 3716 | Sune na koi man ki vyathhaa | Subhadra Haran(1964) | Debut song of the movie. Posted at 1:12 PM. Debut of the movie. One song out of 6 covered so far. |
One can see that all four movies whose songs were covered on that day are unYIPPEED to this date and so they all are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today.

Forgotten Songs of Bappi Lahiri – Song # 1
A lot of water has flowed, in terms of my health, since my last post, almost three years ago. Two/Three other conditions have been diagnosed (which are being treated), by which the general health has taken a back seat. However, the emotional and mental spirit has been great, due to the immense love and support from my family and friends, including my fellow contributors to this blog. However, I have not been able to bring myself to write my new post. Today, after some effort, I have taken the task of writing my next post.

Today’s song is from an obscure ‘never heard of’ type film of the early times of the Talkie era – Kaun Kisi ka-1939. The film was made by Hindustan Cinetone. It was directed by Chimanlal Luhar, a talented person. He was a rarity in those days as he was a Science graduate. In times when there were very few educated people in the film industry, he was respected everywhere.

Hullo Atuldom
18th March 2012 was the first time I sent a contribution to Atulji in the form of lyrics of one of Deewaar’s songs – “Maine Tujhe Maanga Tujhe Paaya Hai“. That happened to be Shashi Kapoor’s 74th birthday. That post also marked 300 songs of Sahir Ludhianvi on the blog. It is nine years since then and we touched 700 songs of Sahir on the blog recently. That was post number 5655 for the blog considering that we had touched 2900 on 3rd September 2010 and those days the blog was chugging along at a great speed.

Today’s song, like the previous song of “Jurm”(1990) discussed by me, is from a very recent movie ‘Criminal-1995’. The movie made its debut on the blog on 05.09.2008, with its beautiful romantic song ‘tu miley dil khile aur jeene ko kya chaahiye’. After that no song of this movie has been discussed so far.
Today after a gap of ‘4580’ days (breaking earlier record 😊 ‘4579’days) we are going to listen to the second song of this movie in the blog. Like others I was also not aware of the other songs of this movie except its song ‘tu miley dil khile aur jeene ko kya chaahiye’.

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Jurm-1990’.
By the standards of this blog ‘Jurm-1990’ is a very recent movie. This movie made made its debut on the blog during its early days, viz on 12.09.2008 with its ‘heart-touching’ song ‘jab koi baat bigad jaaye, jab koi mushqil pad jaaye’. This song is said to be inspired by the song “500 miles” (Peter Paul & Mary version/ brothers four version).

Geeta Dutt – Solos and Duets (04)
———————————–————–
Here is a duet again by Geeta Dutt and Rafi Sahab as song no. 04 of the series. I shall try not to make this series of Raft-Geeta duets songs with every other song by them. No worries there I have a few interesting combination duets and truets lined up for this series and I can be forgiven if it is interspersed with a few of those gems by this jodi. The more popular ones by the likes of OPN and SDB are already in the blog, among the remaining are by music directors who are lesser known.

#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 125 # Khaleefaa-1976
——————————————-—————————
Welcome all to this post where once again we are going back to ‘one song movie’ on the blog.
Today’s movie is ‘Khaleefaa-1976’. This movie made its debut on the blog on 02.09.2008 with its most popular song ‘dil machal rahaa hai, rang badal rahaa hai’.
However, the movie is waiting for its second song since 02.09.2008 and that makes a 4579 days l-o-n-g wait for this movie … (so, as of now, this is the record for maximum days between first and the second song of a movie on the blog. The earlier record was for 4540 days here .).
