Today’s song is from the ‘1981’ movie ‘Meri Aaawaaz Suno’.

This movie was passed by Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate, so people of my age then (I was around 13 years old) were not eligible to watch this movie during its first run.
However, I remember that our seniors used to discuss this movie and the brutal violence shown in it. What I vaguely remember about this movie is that Jeetendra plays a double role – one of dreaded murderer and one of a sincere and dedicated police officer. I think the music of this film was also overall good. I carried the memory of a couple of songs from this movie. I am presenting one of them today.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 37
————————————————————————————–

This date ten years ago (viz 26 March 2012) saw five songs from five different movies covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

Blog post number Song Movie (Year) Remarks
5696 Raam duhaayi hai raam duhaayi hai Neki Aur Badi (1949) 8 songs covered by now out of 10
5697 Jab tak duniya rahi rahegi Ye Dil Kisko Doon (1963) 6 songs covered by now out of 10
5698 Lo ek kali muskaayi Ek Kali Muskaayi(1968) Movie YIPPEED by now
5699 Aaye ho to dekh lo duniya zara Chiraag Kahaan Roshni Kahaan(1959) Movie YIPPEED by now
5700 Kehne waale tu bhi keh le Qawwali Ki Raat(1964) Movie YIPPEED by now

We can see that three movies (out of five) whose songs were covered ten years ago have since been YIPPEED by now.

That leaves us with two movies that are eligible for Blog Ten years Challenge.

“Ye Dil Kisko Doon”(1963) is one of the two movies that are still unYIPPEED.

Most Indians today know that Tiger is the national animal of India. But that was not the case when India became independent. Asiatic Lion (found in Geer forest in Gujarat), was declared as India’s national animal in 1948 by PM Jawaharlal Nehru in 1948, mainly because of lobbying by Gujrat Natural History Society.

While we in this blog discuss songs, we also discuss other topics of common interest, like sports (mainly cricket), festivals, history, economy etc.

Tokyo Olympics concluded a few days back. As Indians, we had lots of sporting events to look forward to. Indians were participating in many events. Indians had pinned hopes of medals on quite a few of them, seeing that some of them were actually ranked world number 1, 2, 3 etc in their sports and they were given similar seedings too in the Olympics. But most of these sportspersons disappointed.

Hullo Atuldom

Choosing a song for today’s post was not so easy. We are celebrating our beloved Kishore Kumar’s 92nd birthday and seem to have run out of all popular songs. Songs that are played on the repeat on music channels and FM radio are not for us. We, a tribe that is called Atulites, living in Atulsongaday.me kingdom (Atuldom for short) are not satisfied with oft-repeated songs.

Ideally this post should have come last year, when this veteran of about a few hundred movies, turned 80. But then that has not happened.

I have decided that we shall not let the occasion go unnoticed. And in south India, the celebration for a person turning 80 is normally on completing 81, as the system of calculating the auspicious date to celebrate says that the person should have witnessed a 1000 full moons in his life, with the life being said to have started after the 1st birthday. Etc. Etc. Etc.
